Re: Net Neutrality

While I won't deny the importance of Net Neutrality, I have to question what the incentive for the average ISP to abuse it is. Perhaps I'm missing something, but it seems like a lot of work to throttle/block specific high-bandwidth activities when existing speed tiers and data caps mean only the fas...

Re: i forgot, is 2018 going to be ten years since this forum has existed like this?

For what its worth, the forum lists Mooncow's join date as being way back in 2005. Granted, there's no telling what form the forums took back then, and for all I know, its trivial for the admin to spoof their own join date.

Re:

Sadly, I'm not entirely sure how to calculate things like lifting and striking strength even working with SI measurements(which, naturally, my calculus-based physics class from a little over half-a-decade ago worked with exclusively), much less how to do it using pounds as our unit of force, so I co...

So far, I'm just glad the changes don't require me to completely learn the new best method for navigating the forums with a screen reader. The previous upgrade was completely disorienting at first.

Re: Sonic verse calcs

Holy ****, I knew Cream was quite the powerhouse behind that cute, innocent exterior, but I never even considered the ramifications of just how strong she must be to be able to fly with Big, the heaviest non-kaiju biological character in the series in tow. And if we assume Sonic X characters are ide...

Re: Sonic Forces

While games being rushed to market is a long standing problem that has only gotten worse thanks to the ease of releasing patches on modern consoles putting many devs in a mindset that they can charge full price for what is essentially a public beta and then patch bugs based on feedback from early ad...

Re: The Animation General

It's been a long time since I rewatched Samurai Jack since its tendency towards long stretches without dialogue or narration make it unsuitable for a blind audience, and I haven't given season 5 a listen, but from what I remember, the original seasons were easily some of the bloodiest, most violent ...

Re: "Sonic was never good"

In all fairness, the Sonic games having subpar writing is one of the few things most of the fragmented Sonic fanbase has been able to agree on since SA1 was originally released for Dreamcast and the only game I can recall being praised for having a story more complex than S3K's was Sonic Battle. As ...

I find the cultural associations others in this thread put on Mountain Dew funny as I've always associated the beverage with rednecks and especially rednecks who watch NASCAR.

I've heard them called melons before, but never pumpkins... then again, I generally prefer those in the grapefruit and smaller range. Though, to combine attractive females with beverages I like, how about: A cute, bespectacled brainy brunette in full scholarly dress with all the regalia celebrating ...

Re: Pepsi VS Coke

I've actually resumed the soda habit in the wake of my father's death earlier this year, but I still think cola is a universally bad flavor. Give me Dr. pepper and its secret blend of 23 flavors anyday. As for other soda flavors: I've tried both Mountain Dew and Mello Yello since picking up the habi...

Re: Osama Bin Laden played Animal Crossing and Yoshi's Island

Assuming this is true, why would it be news worthy? As far as I know, he never said anything bad about Japan or their (pop) culture, and even if the games mentioned had been American made, my, admittedly limited, understanding was that his beef was primarily with the US government(and that said beef...

Wait, people take issue with panty shots? Part of me has trouble comprehending that, especially when I can think of in-tact panty shots from the days when the censors ran ram-shot over every non-hentai that got dubbed. Not to mention that the game that originally gave us Chao got an E for everyone d...

Toss up between Candy Corn and the little pumpkins made from the same stuff, but then again, I can't really think of anything else I associate specifically with the holiday. Also, honorable mention to those slice and bake rolls of cookie dough with a jack-o-lantern design. Honorable mention because ...

In all fairness, most politicians are habitual, if not pathological liers, and the system is pretty much rigged to ensure the honest ones never accomplish much.

Yeah, I much preferred when Vegito's original defusion was just part of Buu's digestive process, and would've preferred Gogeta making his main timeline debut or the item used for Fusion in the Fusion video game being imported to the anime to the Potara retcon. And yes, the dance is ridiculous. No id...

Re: CIHI: Costume?

I usually lack the funds to put together a costume and generally think picking one up from Wal-Mart lazy to the point of insulting to those who put effort into their costumes. Anyways, as a kid, I went two years each as Bart Simpson, a Pumpkin, and a Ghost. During my teen years, I got quite a bit of...

Re: Do you cook? (Non Cooks Do Not Interact)

My culinary skills are limited to microwave, toaster, and things that don't require actual cooking like salads and deli wraps. That said, I could in theory follow a baking recipe given a blind friendly kitchen and directions that use exact cooking times instead of vague things like "bake until golde...

Here's one for Digimon Adventure: Ken and Izzy are certified polyglots, but all of the Odaiba chosen, with the possible exception of Davis have an unusually strong grasp of the English language for Japanese youths. As a Japanese-American, Mimi would have to learn the language just to survive, but pr...

Considering that most of the atoms that make up our bodies and most of the world around us were forged through nuclear fusion and it provides the energy source for most organisms at the producer level of most food webs, I'm quite happy that fusion is so common in the universe. Without it, the univer...

Re: Is sexism in video games the real problem?

My experience with online multiplayer is limited to things like the GTS from Pokemon and online leader boards, but I agree that most of the problem is socially awkward assholes who have no clue where the line is when it comes to trash talking rather than bigots who genuinely mean the hurtful things ...

Re: Everything is Sonic the Hedgehog

Doing some double checking, there's also the animated version of Episode of Bardock(released late 2011) and Plan to Eradicate the Super Sayians(though I'll admit it might not count since its a remake and the original dates back to DBZ's original run in Japan). Still, for some reason, I was thinking ...

Can't say I've played any games I'd consider scary, but of the games I thoroughly enjoyed, the ones that come closest to being scary in a traditional sense are probably Luigi's Mansion and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

1. Fusion Reborn is the dub title for the 12th of the 13 DBZ movies. 2. Wrath of the Dragon is the dub name for movie 13. 3. There have been several animated specials produced in the ~15 years between GT's conclusion in Japan and the release of Battle of Gods. 4. Due to Japan's looser definition of ...
