Re: The Animation General

In all fairness, even when Cowboy Bebop was new, VHS was on its way out and few in the target audience would be old enough to remember the VHS vs Beta format wars, and I suspect the intention was for most audience members to be as baffled as Jet and Spike when it's revealed the player they got is th...

Re: The A Degree (Ivogoji)

I like some of your ideas for the "power from fighting along side an opposite gender partner: verse better than my own.Though, admittedly, some of your ideas sound like a serious take on the idea whereas most of mine kind of parody/deconstruct the tendency of shounen fight series to have few, i...

Blue and yellow go well together, and Chao blue combined with Chao Yellow is thematically appropriate for a website about Chao, but this is arguably a case of sacrificing readability for aesthetic. Color combinations that make for easy reading, especially for an extended period, are far more limited...

Re: The A Degree (Ivogoji)

Somehow, I missed you replying to my previous batch of questions. Consider an animesque setting that blends tropes of the shounen fight and mahou shoujo genres and where the local powers are at their most potent when wielded by a male-female duo who share a strong bond fighting side-by-side(Note: th...

Re: The Sonic Archie Comics have come to an end.

I never really kept up with the series after I let my one year subscription that started around the time of Home lapse(as much from lack of renewal notices as anything), and blindness put an end to me reading the Archives and Select anthologies of the older content around 16 and 3 respectively, but ...

Dedicated hosting and forum attachments have always been superior in my opinion.

Also, while this might actually have effects beyond the Mega Social Sites, this still has zero impact on me.

Re: Sandwiches.

At home, I generally prefer wraps to sandwiches as I'm not fond of most loaf bread(potato bread being a notable exception), and even then, I tend to prefer chef salads since the largest tortillas available from local grocers aren't big enough to hold everything I'd like to put in them. My deli runs ...

Re: The Animation General

In all fairness, most anime is targetted at a young audience, but at least the Japanese don't seem to assume all children are idiots that will be baffled by anything with an actual plot and properly developed characters or mentally scarred by anything even hinting at life's vices and don't have a mi...

I've got no real alternative to dubs since: 1. My Japanese is crap even though its my best human language after English. 2. I can't read subs or scanlations. 3. I know of no means of having a computer read softsubs along side playing the audio, and subtitle files aren't the most screenreader friendl...

Literal translation is seldom the most appropriate way of presenting a work in a language other than the original, and while localization can certainly go too far, some amount of localization is usually needed to make a translation make sense to anyone not bilingual enough to have consumed the origi...

Technically, couldn't you stream the PS4 version to a Vita? Granted, who wants to lug around a backpack with a home console and a massive battery pack just to play a game outside the home? If I could still see, I'm pretty sure Disgaea 5 would've been enough for me to get a Switch at Launch just as D...

While Blue and Green have, in at least one society, been the traditional colors of rival political factions, they have also, in at least one society, been considered variations of the same color. Still, the blind man finds this arguing over colors quite ridiculous, or to put it in memespeak, petty b...

I thought more Internet savvy people avoided Tumblr and the like because that's where most of the people who only started using the Internet when smartphones took off go to make fools of themselves online. Or do I just have an outdated understanding of what counts as Internet savvy in this modern wo...

Meh, the Pound is still worth more than the Euro or US Dollar, and it's not like the USD isn't at or near historic lows itself. I can remember a time when a quarter could buy anything in a Coke or Pepsi vending machine and gasoline could be found for less than a dollar a gallon, and when they were a...

Re: So have you guys been getting your anime doses?

Recently found out that one of the people translating the Ojamajo Doremi 16 Light Novels has resumed translation after a long hiatus, so I've now finished the second volume and started the third. Here's hoping the translator maintains a semi-regular schedule and makes it through all 9 volumes.

Wow, the Supreme Court ruling was even more limited than I thought(I was pretty sure it only covered hardware, but I thought it would at least cover things like third party overclock mods and custom case work and not just third party repair). Of course, at least in the US, it doesn't help that the C...

I think Ivo has put more thought into what Rouge looks like under her catsuit than most R34 artists(from what I remember, even the ones who get the SegaSonic style more or less right either make her human from the neck down or seem to think she's a succubus, though considering that succubi are almos...

Re: GTA Modding Scene has been hit with a C&D

I've never found the GTA games even remotely appealing, but this still strikes me as gross abuse of IP law at best, and it totally sucks that, as usual, there's practically no chance of the law doing anything meaningful to curb such anti-consumer behavior and that, again as usual, there aren't enoug...
