As Nintendo said, anything new is still unclear. So the chance of being it Single-Player is still not sure. We'll just have to wait till it comes out. But I agree It would be nice if you could play it with CPU's.

So like if I was trying to get a shiny two tone chao, it would be exactly the same as making a normal two tone except the monotone chao is a shiny monotone?

I sometimes leave it behind the pillar on the left in the Hero Garden. Because they will be stuck there for a long time so you can just leave the game on. Just make sure you feed it so it doesn't start to dislike you.
