There doesn't seem to be any foxes for that matter, either.
From what I could gather online, it seems like the animal choices are:

-Wolf
-Cat
-Rabbit
-Dog
-Bear
-Bird
-Hedgehog

I think that's still a pretty decent selection, and I did like some of the accessories such as the previously-mentioned Chao backpacks. In all honesty, I'm a real sucker for character customization in games, so I'm actually excited for this.

At the same time, though, I did admittedly laugh when I first saw the announcement. The variety of reactions so far has been really entertaining. I'm interested in seeing how this all turns out.

The Sonic Colours power-ups have been confirmed to be in the game since it was originally previewed.

Maybe that purple one is Void or Asteroid? That yellow one could be Ivory.

Also, as reported by news sites but not the trailers and such: the Wispon. (Geez, these guys are fast.)

Apparently that flamethrower shown in the trailer was a wisp power, so I guess that makes your avatar not use Wisp like Sonic normally does?

I... really don't know what to say about this. The Wispons are a very creative idea, and I also have a feeling that on launch day, a lot of people are going to try to make Coldsteel. But what I REALLY want is to hear the official lyrics for the main theme, or at least knowing WHO is making the lyrics (who else is praying for Crush 40?).
I am NOT the only person to exist that likes Sonic the Fighters. Just so you know. :chaohappy:

Why are Shadow and Chaos on the bad side, I thought they weren't completely evil? I always assumed they were neutral-aligned characters now. What reason do they have to join the other villains?
And why the heck did they bring back Zavok? Are the rest of the Deadly Six gonna show up too or is it just him? I was really hoping I wouldn't have to see him again after Lost World.

Metal Sonic makes sense though, and I'm curious about whatever that new villain's supposed to be.

My guess is that the new villain is controlling them one way or another.

Also, they said this is a universe where Eggman has already taken over, so maybe things like also Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 didn't happen the same way as the actual games, or never actually took place?

Eggman would have no need for retrieving Chaos, Shadow, or even Zavok if he already took over the world. Heck, he might not have even been the one to create Metal Sonic.

This is Sonic CD's bad ending? He had a Time Stone at the end of it.

Eggman was shown using the Egg Dragoon against Classic Sonic in that last trailer.

He can literally pull any of his newer machines out from any timeline.

He effectively had an entire base still waiting for him on Little Planet since Sonic (presumably) didn't destroy all of his generators and it reappeared with a chain attached to it.

Classic Eggman implied that he could have remembered Generations at the end of it.

CD could have been his plan based on that defeat.

Classic Sonic's appearance might just be CD Sonic visiting the Bad Future.

^I could see something like that being the case.

Maybe "Infinite" is in the process of a coup against Eggman, and somehow knew that in this timeline Chaos would be in the Master Emerald, Metal Sonic would be in Final Egg, Shadow would be in Prison Island, and Zavok would be in space, and gathered them to assist in his take over.

Shadow looked pretty normal in the trailer, so I don't think they're being mind controlled. If this is indeed an alternate timeline, Infinite could just be persuading them to work for him the same way Eggman did.

^I'd love for that to be true, but won't hold my breath. I'm getting the vibe that Chaos- and for that matter, Shadow- is only loosely tacked on to the plot of this game like they were in Generations. The developers probably aren't thinking about SA very deeply here.

Chaos 0's updated look is boss though, holy cow.

The developers already confirmed there isn't a chao garden. They said, and I quote, "There's no chao garden, but there is a little nod to the chao if you look (in the game)".

Presumably the chao backpacks.

The vocals for the Forces theme are great. It's not Crush 40, but it's great.

I liked it, but it admittedly did feel generic; meshed in too much with the song itself. The vocalists for previous games would have been a better pick.

That said, I generally don't like music with vocals more than instrumentals, so that's a thing.

Come on now, "The Reason" and "Crawling in the Dark" are still bangers.


That being said yeah the song is generic and Sonic as ****. Really bad lyrics, generic rock song otherwise. The hammy charm worked back in the Sonic Adventure era, but these days it's just grating
