Completely unnecessary sequels. Sonic Heroes shouldn't get a sequel. It won't be fun with Modern Sonic abilities. And even though it was a joke, STH5 would still be unnecessary.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind them revisiting the Heroes Concept, provided they made formation switching less clunky, made the Flight formation less clunky, and either reduced the other teams to mere alternate costumes or did something to actually differentiate between each team. Heroes was, in my opinion at least, one of the more interesting experiments Sonic Team did, and its a real shame that they did not take the time to properly polish it and never attempted to build upon it.

That said, they should probably work to perfect a modern Knuckles playstyle and a modern Tails playstyle before attempting another Team-based playstyle.

Also, another game in the style of adventure, with multiple playable character who each have their own unique playstyle would be great.

Actually, picture this:
-Three playable characters: Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.
-Each has their own playstyle.
-A simple storyline featuring the Triple Threat working to undermind Eggman's latest plot.
-Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles will, as plot and current objective demand Team-up and split-up.
-Some story stages will be Solo missions relying on one playable character's unique abilities.
-Some story stages will have two of our heroes working together.
-Some story stages will have all three working together.
-Other characters will show as demand by the plot, but will not be playable in-story, but some would be unlockable as alternate skins for playing levels outside of sotyr mode.
-No new characters are introduced in the game.
-Sonic gameplay would be based on Colors/Generations/Lost World.
-Knuckles game play would be more combat oriented, perhaps taking some cues from the Werehog levels(minus the stretchy arms).
-Tails gameplay would focus more on exploration and aerial manuvers, perhaps with some puzzle solving and use of gadgetry thrown in.

If you put it that way... I guess it would work. MK and MT really do need to get perfected.
So I guess Sonic Heroes could use a sequel.
But I was thinking against it because they would put the other teams and I hated the other teams, Chaotix and Rose are in the top worst. Even though it was my favourite and first Sonic Game I hated part of it *glances at Team Chaotix and Rose.*

A combination of Sonic Heroes and Sonic Adventure gameplay with some stages splitting up the team actually sounds pretty cool.

Why do you even hate Team Rose or Team Chaotix? They're both awesome. And an Adventure/Heroes cross sounds really interesting. I just want so many characters to play as.

^I cannot speak for anyone else's dislikes, but one thing that annoyed me about Heroes is how the different Teams play so similiarly. Team Rose was quite literally nothing more than easy mode to Team Sonic and really din't add much to the game, and many of the Chaotic missions had remnants of the feel of the Treasure Hunting and Lost Chao missions from SA2, which were some of the most frequently panned features of that game.

Oh god this was bumped...

NEITHER! Unless they start taking a sonic lost world approach from here on out(which yes, I know sonic boom uses sonic adventure inspired gameplay) I don't see either happening AT ALL. Heroes would be an awkward thing to play with sonic's new modern abilities and adventure 3 is about as unlikely as chao garden dlc.

It's not CANON. Its a branch off from the sonic universe and the two exist separately.
