Daily reminder if you don't say Sonic Rush, you're objectively wrong and I feel sorry for your defective ears.
No but seriously, what's your favourite?
Which Sonic game had the best music?

Re: Which Sonic game had the best music?
Sonic Rush is definitely up there, no doubt about it. The other handheld Sonic games can't hold a candle to Rush's score, but on their own merits Sonic Advance 2 and Sonic Advance 3 are still quite memorable.
The soundtracks I listen to most often are probably Sonic Adventure, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic Heroes. I really like the music from the Riders games too. The classic Sonic games deserve mention as well- remember S3&K's Lava Reef Zone and final boss themes? Awesome stuff.
But the best, truly the best, is of course the Japanese soundtrack for Sonic CD.
Anyone who disagrees with that assessment is objectively wrong to the ninth power.

If I had to pick an absolute favourite, I'd have to go with SA2, with SA1 being a close second.
Other soundtracks I love include S3&K, the Advance games, Sonic Rush, and Sonic Colours.

It's been forever since I played sonic rush so I actually can't remember the soundtrack, my favourite is S3&K, I spent unhealthy amounts of time listening to that soundtrack... It's awesome though. Disagree and I'll... um... be... disappointed?

What, Christmas ended? Whatever, I'm leaving the decorations up!
I'm also selling a Heart Fruit, I thought buying the last would make it more valuable and increase the demand, it didn't.
Anyway it's still sold out and I'm still selling! Buy It!

I constantly listen to music from the Adventure games and Sonic 2. Mostly for nostalgia but also because I just freakin' love most of the music from Sonic 2.

I LOVE S3&K's music. The Adventures have great music too, but S3&K takes the cake for me.
Fedoras and umbrellas will always stand beside me!

I really can't decide because I'm indecisive so, I'm just gonna make a list if that's cool.
Sonic Heroes, Sonic CD, Riders Zero Gravity, Generations (Obviously), Black Knight, Racing Transformed, and Unleashed.
I jam to these games's soundtracks occasionally, especially the stages.

Re: Which Sonic game had the best music?
at least sonic rush's soundtrack was a little easier on my ears than the d-lister dad rock and the awful nu metal that off and on infested the adventure games and a little bit of heroes and shadow yikes. i mean i admit i liked it when i was a teenager, but then i became a diva hipster monstrosity when i hit my 20s
i'm gonna go with that japanese sonic cd, and sonic 2 is particularly memorable to me because while i'm only 22 going on 23 and didn't really authentically "grow up with it", my slightly older cousins would tolerate me dying a couple times
