Anyone else like Shadow the Hedgehog?
I played that game when I was a kid and it got a lot of bad reception back then, but I personally liked it. There were flaws in level designs and it had some glitches but the story and boss fights were fun. The only major problem with it if you ask me is that it seems like it was rushed out.

I personally consider Shadow the Hedgehog to be a good game and it's relatively well-designed. Shadow controls very well. The controls are somewhat slippery when he's moving very fast, but you can stop moving very quickly by letting go of the control stick. The weapon mechanic also works very well; cannons and close combat weapons can be aimed better if you strafe with them. I didn't have many problems with the story and I think that many of the criticisms of it are highly exaggerated. The only mission that I don't like very much is Mad Matrix's dark mission because it's only tedious.

I didn't like playing it in the slightest (it's much better than Heroes though), but it sure was funny to watch.

Re: Anyone else like Shadow the Hedgehog?
I'm kind of indifferent about it. I remember renting the GameCube version when I was younger, and I thought it was OK. I don't think it's a good Sonic game, but I don't hate it. But then again, this is coming from a person who actually loved Sonic Heroes, and who actually likes some of the Sonic characters that are despised by the rest of the fanbase for being "annoying" (for example: Omochao), so I guess I just have a higher tolerance for this sort of thing...? I dunno.
I do remember getting stuck on one of the final levels because I didn't know how to properly pull off the Triangle Jump. I just kept falling off the wall and wasting my lives, and there was no other way to get past it. That part sucked, and I just gave up at that point.

What is my life anymore?

I thought the general consensus was that Heroes was actually one of the best in the series?CitrusCat wrote:But then again, this is coming from a person who actually loved Sonic Heroes

The reception of Sonic Heroes is somewhat divided, from what I could tell. I personally liked Sonic Heroes a lot as well.
Re: Anyone else like Shadow the Hedgehog?
I'm not a game critic or reviewer and much understand what I should be doing in a video game most of the time.
But here were my problems, at times the controls felt like you were moving around silly putty, the hit detection on the bosses were pretty bad, the sense of direction with some objectives were completely horrible and without a guide could get you trapped in a level for over 30 minutes.
Do I regret having played it, not too much despite my problems with it. I wouldn't defend it from other people, 4 or 5 out of ten.

Re: Anyone else like Shadow the Hedgehog?
i used to hate it with a passion, went back to it and 100%ed it (not all 326 stories, but all As on every alignment mission and all keys) and found it to be pretty alright. a solid 6.5/10 - it definitely gets a lot better with memorization, but it's still a chore to play at times. the narrative is also a total mess imo and ruins shadow and gerald's entire story arcs from SA2
really liked the soundtrack though, and the gunplay was actually pretty great
