From what I've learnt or saw, in many cases this is a bad idea, but for in my opinion who cares. If your parents don't mind you doing this, you can. The law doesn't stop you so do it. Also I believe you're technically the first married person on CI.

It depends how stupid you're, and judging from your location I may be right. You need to ask yourselves these questions before taking such a big decision:

- Do I really love this girl?
- Would I be willing to leave her somebody else?
- Am I even emotionally ready for marriage?
- Am I financially ready for marriage?
- Does this girl even love me?
- Am I in college or do I plan on going to college?
- Do I have a job or enough money to support BOTH me and my pretend wife?
- Am I retarded, is this marriage based on an smart, well thought out decision or am I just thinking with my ****?

If you haven't thought over any of this then good luck, I give it a few months, have fun with those divorce papers.

The most common reason people get divorced is because they're only physically attracted to each other, which, sadly, wears off after a while. If you've kissed her or gone any further than that with that kind of thing, I'd definitely recommend no because that sparks fake love; ie., emotions running wildly out of control that deceive you.

Another reason you should not get married at seventeen is hormones - these also create fake emotion that can make you attracted to a girl for a time, but later wear off and therefore terminate your desire to be married to her - that is if your "relationship" is fueled by physical attraction, which I'd put money on. :)

This is nothing personal, just trying to help you understand that you could be making the worse choice of your life. I say: give it more time, there is nothing wrong with waiting longer. Make sure you can comfortably support her, you, and at least one child just in case.

Please, don't get engaged now. It's so unlikely that it will turn out well that it's painful.

Its obviously your decision, but I would recommend not getting married this early. Everything BUSHNAK said sums up all things that need to be answered before you go through with this.
Marriage is (considered to be) the biggest, most important thing in your life. Screw up once, get divorced, you leave a permanant mark on somebody. It in some cases, ruins their life.

Well I've been engaged for over a year now. Of course I feel I'm old enough for it. I'll be 21 on the 24th. Also I've been with my fiance for 4 years, so we both felt ready. Give it time before you jump in.
