^Some of those wouldn't even count as anime in the way a Japanese person would use the term.

Anyways, I'm down to the last ten episodes of Ranma 1/2. Once that's done, I'll probably either pick up Megaman Battle Network, Speed Racer, or Digimon from where I left off.

Also thinking of marathoning Cardcaptor Sakura again, this time doing episode-by-episode comparisons between the Nelvana and Animax dubs.

So, any newly or recently dubbed stuff worth a listen?

Explain the appeal of this to me. I usually don't care about grotesqueness if the rest is good, but Berserk is so grotesqueness that it is the rest of it. Eclipse, that horse, whatever else* - how are there so many people that haven't drawn the line on this one? Guts is the realest of OGs, sure, but that's just not enough here.

^Berserk is Rape and Butchery: The Movie: The Manga. What's not to like?
Besides repressing the urge to vomit every time you turn a page I mean.

I've been rewatching Inuyasha. Great show, love long anime like this. I regret not watching the whole thing when it was still airing on tv.
Also recently started Omamori Himari, looks like a fun series (cat girls!)- and it should be a quick watch as I have all the episodes downloaded to my laptop- unlike the anime I'm following which haven't finished airing yet, that I can only stream one episode at a time when I happen to go to town. Not having internet sucks B<
Finished watching a short anime called Ojisan to Marshmellow yesterday. Extremely funny series about an office worker who falls in love with a big man who's obsessed with marshmellows, well worth watching.

That "cat girls!" part reminded me of this video that I recommend everybody watch. It involves anime. Catgirl anime. Also as far as I'm aware it's slightly nsfw but I'd expect most people who like cat girls wouldn't complain.

^Anyone mirroring that video on YouTube? I'd like to give it a listen, but YouTube is the only streaming site that seems to work for me.

Anyways, finished the television run of Ranma 1/2. Part of me says I should try to track down the movies and OVAs.

Unfortunately no, it isn't on youtube, but unless there's some setting you use that disables the streaming site, just saying "play" might work to get it playing since the person that made the video owns the site it's on and the streaming service is a simple one.

*Edit: remembered what it was - Guts' childhood.
Honestly, it was actually quite boring for the first 15 chapters or so, mostly because Guts was just some character who was this mysterious badass, who acted all edgy and high n mighty. When it actually went back to this childhood, and how he joined the band of the hawks, I was hooked. The characters were interesting and seeing Guts evolve as a charcter as well as the people around him (like Caska and Griffith) you actually sort of look passed the horrible things, you still take them in I guess but they don't stop you from reading it.

When I was seeing people's legs and arms being crushed into wagon wheels or how Griffith sacrficed the Band of the Hawks and Caska saw people around them being killed while Guts saw Caska being raped in front of him. I was shocked, but it makes you want to read on, you WANT to see how Guts will destroy this person. You want to see how Guts will save x and y, you want to see how Puck or the people around him will assist him.

I want to read on at this point to see how Guts will take down the 5 God Hand's. Especially since he's One man, and they're God's.

Went back to Megaman NT Warrior. My previous binge ended right before the N1 Semi-Final and I'm now about halfway through the Gospel Arc. Still undecided whether I'll try to track down the Axess dub immediately upon finishing the first season.

Started watching an anime called "One Outs." Basically Kaiji with Baseball.

Hell, the main character is voiced by Kaiji, it's great. Music is top tier too.

Also, found this on my daily browse. It's pretty cool.

No seriously, watch it.

Finished One Outs and started to read the manga. If you really want an interesting psychological anime with a great OST, that's the one.

Not sure what to watch next, might attempt Legend of the Galactic heroes again, but I'm not sure.

I binge-watched all of Kuromukuro in a few days, which is a two-cour anime that just finished airing last month - and now I've been catching up with a Fall 2016 anime called Girlish Number. The latter having delightful tongue-in-cheek humour (in regards to the anime industry), venomous dialogue between the seiyuu, and a beautifully vivid art style, which has me intrigued and wanting more.

Might as well update this a bit.

Watched up to episode 6 of Ping Pong the Animation, it's bretty gud but it's artstyle is ugly as sin.

Also started watching Keijo for a laugh, it's as bad as you'd think.

Segue: On the topic of Keijo, I recently listened to a bit of the "Weebcast" which is just the dude from Mother's Basement, Liam, The Great Black Otaku, and another dude I don't know well enough about, and one thing I've been curious about is - why is nobody that isn't a Dragonball fan talking about DB Super? Is it bad? Is it too played out to be worth talking about? Is it just same old same old? I love Dragonball and I've been enjoying Super, especially the latest arc that most fans agree is probably as good as if not better than the Buu Saga of DBZ at least, if no the Cell saga even, but considering how bad the art can get in the series and how played out DB in general is I could understand why nobody wants to talk about it, it's just that literally nobody even makes mention of it.

Also, has anybody here watched any Mother's Basement anime videos and if so how do you feel about them? Not all of them are anime but even ones like his 40 minute Gravity Falls review are really enjoyable and informative. He takes a very balanced and well thought out approach to reviewing things like OPs of FMA, DBZ, OPM, and he has a very notable hate of SAO specifically, which are probably my favorite of his videos.

I started watching Cowboy Bebop, but Hulu only has the first four episodes of the dub, so stopped for now.

This season on Crunchyroll I'm watching Kiss Him, Not Me and Magical Girl Raising Project. The former I already knew about because my girlfriend reads and loves the manga, and I'll admit the anime is plenty of fun, and the latter I watched out of boredom to see how yet another dark magical girl series looked, and I actually really like it.

If you're looking for something more silly and fun, Kiss Him, Not Me has constant silliness and the rivalry of four boys over the same girl, but the girl being a massive nerd and somewhat secretly wants the boys to date each other. Admittedly it took me a few episodes to really like any of the guys, but the animation and ridiculous nature of the protagonist makes up for that wait.

If you want something that will blow your mind, please watching Magical Girl Raising Project. Like its only four episodes in and I was already intrigued, without feeling too surprised, but after episode 4 I am incredibly pumped. Most of the designs for the magical girls are really interesting and creative, and to paraphrase others who have recommended the series: the focus is less on the source of their powers or the evil they must fight, and more so focused on the different magical girls and how their lives and choices influence each other. Its definitely a "be careful who you get attached to" kind of series.

In the mean time, I'm thinking about getting a Funamation account because I want to watch more dubbed anime, and I haven't found much worth paying attention to on Netflix or Hulu, aside from maybe watching Monster Rancher, mostly because I like to torture myself.

Finished Ping Pong. It was a pretty great anime, and had an awesome soundtrack.

Seriously, it's great

Also watched the Little Witch Academia short, and read some more of Berserk. Currently on Volume 30.

Man, does everyone forgot there is an anime thread for anime related things? I know this site is full of weebs.

Spoilers for Ten/Akagi ahead.
Spoiler:
Image

R.I.P ;_;7
So I finished Ten a minute ago, really great Mahjong manga and the last 30 or so chapters really were beautiful and sad. Especially the final few chapters referencing things that happened in Akagi which is really cool because at the time Akagi had just started being written, so it was referencing things that hadn't been drawn yet which was really interesting. Plus, it even had subtle references that I had to re-read again to catch.

It's an amazing manga, but of course you need to know about Mahjong to read it.

In Anime news. I've just been watching Ika-Musume to get my fill of cute trash anime whenever I can, and Legend of the Galactic Heroes whenever I get some time on top of that.
