Jimmy Two-Shoes isn't even that bad, honestly. I liked it as a kid. Sure, it's nothing special, but like Phineas and Ferb, it was during a time where both CN and Nick only cared about Live-action, and it had an interesting and enjoyable premise.

To this day I'm impressed that Disney aired a cartoon about a kid who goes to hell and makes the devil's life a humiliation conga.

Still kinda on the topic of animation, I've been becoming more interested in MMD again. Yeah, that software that all those fanmade Vocaloid videos are made with. But in actuality, you can make some pretty great stuff if: you can do 3D animation or have acquired good motion data by someone who can do 3D animation; you have good, aesthetically nice (or not horrible) models to work with; you have good shading and lighting effects, a little motion blur, and other nice effects that don't crash your computer when all used together; you can do good composition and camera work; and you know how to use post-processing software well.

Unfortunately for me, I have to use MMM (MMD: The Sequel) because MMD likes to make my computer run at the speed of slow. And MMM cannot use effects from MME.

I find MMD/MMM easier to use than other 3D animation software probably since the others are aimed at professionals and I am definitely not a professional. Also I think it's a good way to learn how keyframes and tweening works in this kind of stuff. So you could potentially move on from MMD eventually to stuff like Blender, which I have no idea at all how to use.

I have a ton of respect for people who can animate well, and model well, and stuff, so yeah.

I'm also interested in SFM, but how does that one work? I think I have it installed but I've never used it...

That is an excellent idea. Would you mind if I used that? Misread that as "I'm impressed that Disney hasn't aired a cartoon about a kid who goes to hell and makes the devil's life a humiliation conga."

Eh, some stuff is easy, especially when you download assets that already come with animations. I've tried it before, but I think I'll stick with 2D animation. It's simpler and has much more potential.

From what I can remember of the first two seasons of MLP:FiM, I liked the art style and would rate the animation as good enough.

As for art programs:

Meh, with enough time, dedication, skill, and talent, one could recreate the Mona Lisa in MS Paint XP, use the same program to create 60 frames per second, and then use imagemagic and ffmpeg to convert the sequence of bitmaps into a video file. Granted, such a methodology is probably less likely to be used than someone hand drawing and scanning each individual frame(and even the animators of old typically used shortcuts such as drawing foreground on transparencies so they only had to draw the background once and reusing character poses from one frame to another as appropriate. Point is, ability can make up for poor tools, but good tools can't make up for a lack of ability, and easy to use tools just mean more people can show off their lack of ability.

Also, showing off bad work and then defending it with I wasn't really trying when people call you out for it being bad doesn't change the fact that you decided to show off bad work instead of putting it in your personal junk folder. Following it up with claims you can do better without proof makes you sound like a lazy braggart. Even the greats tend to produce a lot of crap in the process of making their masterpieces, but most of them didn't become great without knowing when something wasn't ready to be shown off. After all, "you can edit a bad page, but you can't edit a blank page".

It's pretty much like any other normal animation program, with built in support for Valve-based Source games (Left 4 Dead, Half-Life, Counter Strike, DOTA 2, TF2, Portal), meaning you get to use those assets in them.

A lot of people say that, but there's a lot more to this issue than the simple thing you let on.

A lot of simple tools have big limits. For example, paint has no smoothing. If you create art in paint, it's going to have artifacts and obvious pixels abound. For another, Paint.net doesn't support many things that digital artists need to create certain effects well.
Working with a rock over a brush to paint with will not work well. There are limits to these tools, and no matter how skilled someone may be with painting with a rock, if someone is just a little above average with painting with a brush, they're more likely to create a compelling piece of art.

Ease of use in tools does mean that more, terrible art can get out there. But it also means that people who otherwise wouldn't get into art, or wouldn't be able to due to a disability, can create something. It means that eventually they will be able to become more skilled using that tool. If tools aren't easy to use, that's a limitation of the tool itself.
Artists aren't totally exempt from the basic principal of "adapt or die".

My top western animated films of all time, sorted by Preference Revealer.

Note: For properties that suffer from Sequilitis, I went with the film that was far and away the best of the entire property's history. So the only Scooby Doo film listed here is Zombie Island; the only Land Before Time film listed is the first one.

Note 2: I have watched The Last Unicorn, but its been so long since I re-watched it I wasn't sure how to place it.

Note 3: Yes, Space Jam is treated here as an animated film. So is Who Framed Rodger Rabbit.

^ Can you even call Space Jam an animated movie? About half of it is live action.

I'd argue and say it's more animation than live action. Maybe 1/4 was real, rest was either green screen or straight up animation.

Have you seen Micheal Jordan in that movie? You can't tell me he's not animated.

It's "Come on and Slam, and Welcome to the Jam". You'd probably know that if you didn't only say it to replicate the Space Jam memes.

Actually I'm fairly certain it was on your list first.

I'm gonna have to agree with Puffle here, if you didn't want to talk about Space Jam then you probably should've just left it off your list.
