Popular gaming website OMGPop has shut down by its owner Zynga, inc. to make room for a site full of their generic awful Facebook games.
RIP in peace
OMGPop shuts down - Swapples gone forever
Re: OMGPop shuts down - Swapples gone forever
I'll miss that racing game that never had anybody else playing it.
I'll also miss that Bomberman rip-off game that was actually kind of fun.
Though I wasn't really affected by it since the only time I had true good ol' fun was when I spent all night playing various games at 2 AM and laughing my ass off with a few competitive TF2 friends.
I'm sure True would be bummed the most. If he is alive, that is.

^Surely, it couldn't be the only computerized version of Connect Four that allows netplay. Finding one with a decent sized player base might be a challenge, but I am sure their are countless Connect Four clones out there.
Anyways, I am assuming this is another among the multitude of websites with flash or javascript based games that would be trivial(or nearly so) for any competent game programmer to clone or anyone who knows anything about downloading "restricted" content to archive and mirror. If so, I am tempted to say nothing of significant value was lost.

...But I liked having the highest Swapples score and beating everyone at Letterblox. I actually heard about this awhile ago though, and although I really do not have the time to play much anymore, I'm still rather sad that it got shut down.

Even though Zynga has officially closed down OMGPOP's website, the servers have not been shut down and can be accessed entirely by means of third-party websites, such as Hambycomb and AE4RV.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Yeah I was gonna say that I knew some of the games were on other websites. I quit OMGpop a while ago after learning it would be shut down.
