"Legal should include mario galaxy"

From my eyes, I think that stages that have a walk off death are unfair since they can turn battles into camera struggles.

Amiibo: 0Y 1N
Mii's: 1Y 10
Custom Piecse: 0Y 1N
Custom Moves: 1Y 0N

I take it you intend to participate then if you're putting a say on the asked rules?

You can see how it can be unfair, yet include it in your legal stages post.

It's only fair that this and similar stages legality are left up to vote as well.

I nominate the following as legal stages:
Smashville (Brawl)
Town and City (Smash Wii U)
Battlefield and Big Battlefield (Smash Wii U)
Final Destination And All Omega Stages (Smash Wii U)
Pokemon Stadium 2 (Brawl)
Jungle Hijinxs (Smash Wii U)
Delfino Plaza (Brawl)

Custom Moves should be allowed
Custom Equipment should not
Mii's should
Amiibo should not (the high level amiibo's get stat boosts and some suffer no landing lag, putting the human at a disadvantage)

Also, in the case of stage striking, I think BF, Big BF, and FD + Omegas should be starters, maybe smashville as well, with the rest being counterpick stages.

Mind if I join?

Also, here's what I think:
Allow custom moves
No equipment
Allow Miis
No Amiibos
For legal stages, here's what I got:

Neutral
Battlefield
Big Battlefield
Town and City
Smashville
Pilotwings
Lylat Cruise

Counter-Pick
Omega Stages
Duck Hunt
Delfino Plaza
Skyloft
Halberd
Castle Siege
Kongo Jungle 64 (I put it as Counter Pick because of the cannon)

Walk Offs (Not sure if these would be actually legal, but here are my picks)
Mario Galaxy
Coliseum
Wii Fit Studio
Garden of Hope

For illegal stages, probably whatever's unlisted, but I'll put ones that should MOST DEFINITELY be banned.

Mushroom Kingdom U (Nabbit. NUFF SAID.)
Mario Circuit (Both versions)
Luigi's Mansion
Jungle Hijinx
Skyworld
Wrecking Crew
Bridge of Eldin
Pac-Land
Kalos Pokemon League
Temple
Pyrosphere
Great Cave Offensive
Palutena's Temple
Boxing Ring
75m
Flat Zone X
Gaur Plain
Gamer
Wily Castle
Orbital Gate Assault

Stage Striking:
Well the way most tournament handle bans are bottom row for starters, and second row for counter picks. In the first match of a set, you can only pick from starters, while any other game in that set you can pick from the starters and counter picks. After the players decide who will ban first, the person who bans first will ban one stage, followed by the other player banning two stages. The player who picked first will then ban their own two stages. Finally, the other player will ban one of the two remaining stages, essentially choosing the stage they play on. This method of bans is usually referred to as 1-2-2-1. After the first match, the winner of the first match will ban 3 stages of the counter picks and starters, and then the loser will then select the stage from the remaining stages. Many tournaments also have "Dave's stupid rule" (DSR) in place, which means you cannot pick a stage you have already won on in that set. Keep in mind that a lot of tournaments have their own banned stages now (usually replacing Poke'mon Stadium 1 with either Dracula's Castle or Distant Planet), so the first two rows are not always be legal.

While I won't be participating, I do have suggestions for rules.

Miis - Yes.

Custom moves - only for Palutena and the Miis.

No Custom Character stats. It's way too easy for somebody who's had the game longer to have an advantage thanks to it being wholly possible to have positive numbers in all three stats.

Amiibos wouldn't work in any actual way other than letting a CPU, who chances are unless you've practiced with it day in and day out will probably be meh-tier at best, play for you. Also Amiibos don't work over the internet AFAIK.

Double Elimination best of 3 (except the last match between the winners bracket victor and the losers bracket victor which is best of 5), with a Winners Bracket and Losers bracket. Loser of the first round of 3 picks the next map, which is a "Counterpick".

Legal stages -

Omega stages
Final Destination
Battlefield
Smashville
Town and City

Counterpick only stages -
Jungle Hijinx (incredibly big, stalling and circle camping could occur but isn't that big of a threat as the stage itself is small)
Kongo Jungle 64
Gamer (the only hazard has tons of warning before it activates and even then only hits non-airborne players in a small cone)
the Sonic Lost World level (the springs are eh and the blast lines are a bit close but a solid map)
Pilotwings

Big Battlefield is way too big and circle camping will probably occur.

Every other stage is banned.

Custom Moves? Sure
Custom Pieces? Nah
Mii's? Sure
Amiibo entry? Nah

The stages that I'd be alright with are:
Battlefield
Final Destination (Omegas included)
Skyloft
Lylat Cruise (Brawl)
Town and City
Smashville
Pilotwings

Then some stages that I'd MAYBE be alright with:
Halberd
Castle Siege
Pokemon Stadium 2
MAYBE Delfino Plaza

I'll be participating.

Hmmm, I think I may return to this site for a while just to join this tournament.

Custom Moves? I wouldn't mind this offline, but you can't really tell when somebody is using equipment in tandem with custom moves online, so I'm unfortunately going to have to say no unless we can trust that each participant only uses custom moves without any equpiment.
Custom Pieces? If you mean equipment, then definitely no. Too many variables with the stats and special effects that makes the game rather uncompetitive.
Mii's? I don't really see anything wrong with Miis.
Amiibo entry? Ehhh, kinda beats the purpose of a tournament imo.
Legal Stages, because Omega is not the pinnacle of balance. Battlefield, Final Destination, and Smashville are obvious givens. Town & City, Lylat Cruise, and the Duck Hunt stage are also nice competitive stages, though they aren't as neutral as the former three with their layouts. If they aren't starters, then perhaps consider them for counterpicks?
Walk off Stages, because sometimes what's legal and whats illegal has a grey area. Assuming you mean counterpick stages, then Pilot Wings, Delfino Plaza, and Halberd come to mind. Kongo Jungle 64 could also be a possibility but its layout can promote circle camping with some characters. Omega stages are usually in the counterpick area, but they could certainly be in the neutral/legal area too. If you really want to stretch it with counterpick stages, then you can consider Castle Siege, Windy Hill, Wuhu Island and maaaaaaybe Skyloft + Woolly World, but they aren't really the most ideal competitive stages for a couple of reasons, even as counterpicks. As a side note, tilting stages (Lylat, Pilotwings, etc.) are usually counterpicks because they can sometimes mess with projectile play, especially for Robin and Link/Tink players.
Illegal Stages, because sometimes Omega is more balanced than the Kalos Pokemon League. Everything else that I haven't listed should be banned. Don't take what I said word for word, though; use your own judgments with which stages are fine.

I'm only wondering, but will the tourney be hosted with Challonge when it starts?

If so, you should probably PM a link to the bracket to the participants to they can sign up.

What is any of that Casey?

My idea was for people that are in the fight to share friend codes, battle, and send me the results in a video.

Send in a video? I was thinking going into the chat to keep track of scores once participants are done with their match.

Anyway, Challonge is a bracket generator, and it's an efficient way of hosting tourney brackets, and people that challenge each other report their scores back at the end of a set. It's pretty simple. Thing is, people have to sign up on the site, but it's easy. Done it for other online tourneys before. http://challonge.com/tournament/bracket_generator

Also, is this a single elimination tourney? Just wondering because I don't think that was ever stated.

It's not so much the hazard as it is the presence of a cave of life that would give anyone with good teching skills a lot of longetivity. If caves of life were non-issues, then Arena Ferox would have been a solid counterpick in the 3DS version.
