Gaming Setups

Post by Sable »

Feel free to post pictures of your gaming setups here.

I got an entertainment center yesterday so I decided to completely redo mine, and I took pictures of it.

Here's everything in action. The consoles aren't hooked up to both TVs simultaneously sadly, I just have the same game on both the Wii and Wii U.

Everything is routed as follows:
- SNES: not set-up
- N64: CRT TV through composite
- Saturn: CRT TV through composite
- Dreamcast: CRT TV through composite
- XBOX: CRT TV through composite
- PS2 - CRT TV through component
- PS3 - HD TV through HDMI
- Wii - CRT TV through component
- Wii U - HD TV through HDMI

Eveything with composite, I'm hoping to upgrade to S-Video or component.

All consoles except the SNES. Sadly due to the doors I have to unhook controllers after I use them making things kind of inconvenient.

The SNES, my 3DS and DS Lite, my PSP (in a carrying case on top of the games,) the Wii U Gamepad, and all of my games. The CD cases hold loose PC, XBOX, PS1, PS2, Saturn, Dreamcast, and Wii games (over 100 loose games total lmao... I've been meaning to rebuy the boxes) The Hello Kitty and Sonic tins hold loose SD cards and flash drives. Not pictured are an official Gameboy Color carrying case (which holds all of my loose GBA and GBC games) and a Dialga card case (which holds my loose DS games.)

Underneath the entertainment center is two baskets that hold all of my controllers and cords that aren't in use.

Not really related to the main setup is my laptop, not super impressive or anything.

My desk has become my gaming space, mostly so I can record stuff. But I don't really keep anything other than the 360 plugged in regularly.

Left side: microphone, laptop, piano-shaped VHS rewinder, xbox360
Middle: secondary monitor, VCR+DVDplayer behind it, old computer speakers, samsung tv
Right: VCR, Dreamcast, iPod dock/AUX speaker, CRT with input and output and DVD player, PS2 slim with remote and eyetoy, and two Gamecubes with Gameboy Players.

And for fun, a close up of the rewinder. It was a new find.

Kudos on watching My Name is Earl there, Crazo.

My battlestation is a mess, it's just my computer really.

I hope to one day have a nice space to have a good battlestation for.

I have a Gamecube on top of my vcr, and behind that there's a Wii.

our consoles are scattered throughout the house but I have a few in my room:

the gamecube and ps2 are sitting on an old dvd player and the dreamcast is sitting on the ps2. there are no controllers or memory cards connected to the gamecube because they're downstairs with the wii. because virtual console kid chameleon.

it's a little dangerous to keep all the wires under that window because it leaks when it rains but...

I also have a sort of work in progress blizzard shelf going on with the wc3 battle chest and its discs and the starcraft battle chest discs on it. the starcraft battle chest box is elsewhere in my room.
but I didn't take a picture of that.

my computers over a year ago, only real changes since then being different keyboard and mouse and the addition of an art manikin
my tv in my room showing off some dreamcast games
and my most recent desktop background and windows theme stuff.

Sadly, I only have my desktop right now. My Wii U is in my closet because I don't have a TV.

Everyone else's looks neato though.

I should put Frotz and my collection of text adventures on one or both of my Raspberry Pis after I get them up and running again. I can play these on my Desktop, but the text mode screen reader I have to use on the Pi, while generally being less usable in my opinion, has the ideal behavior for text adventures(on my Desktop, I use SBL and have to manually tell it to read each bit of output from the game while I use speakUp on my Pi, which automatically reads every new bit of text on the screen, even bits scrolling off the top faster than can be read).

Other wise, I've got no television or monitor, all my consoles and handhelds arein storage, and the only thing connected to my PC is a wireless USB keyboard(the mouse that came with it still has that insulator tab they use to preserve the life of the included battery.

My setups are strewn all over the place, but mostly consist in two rooms. The power trips in my room really easy because of the way this house was poorly wired, so I hardly ever have more than 6 things plugged in at once. Because of that, having all of my stuff in one convenient hub isn't gonna happen anytime soon, sadly.
