Other Games has been dead for too long, let's bring it back.
What other forms of media would you like to see as a game? Anime, Movie, TV show, Books etc.
I've always wanted to see a Red Dwarf game, if handled well with the actual writers, and possibly Alien Isolation gameplay with something on board the ship, and all four playable characters. I'm sure it'd be a great hilarious game. I'd also love a laugh track option.
Speaking of TV shows. Archer would be pretty hilarious as a video game, either a first person shooter with XIII's artstyle or some sort of point and click tellatale adventure type dealey. I'd love to be in a dangerous situation and have there be dumb commentary about how I got into this situation, so like Uncharted but with other characters.
On the other hand, vidya into another media?
I'm happy Ace Attorney got an anime, even though I haven't finished it yet. I would love to see Skies of Arcadia get some kind of anime, although unlikely. Jet Set Radio as well that'd be pretty cool as an anime as well, although not sure how. I'm guessing in an Air Gear fashion with Skankfunk doing the music of course.
How about you guys, what kind of media would like to be transformed into a vidya game or vidya game.
Things you'd like to see as Video Games and vise versa.

The Paper Mario games deserve an anime adaptation. So very much.
A Shantae inspired anime or manga/comic to would be to die for, I'm surprised we haven't seen the latter.
And of course people have talked about doing Metroid as a live action film.
As for media that would make good video games, Overlord springs to mind, since it's inspired by fantasy RPGs. Mahou Sensei Negima! lends itself well to the genre for similar reasons.

Really? I feel like that wouldn't translate well, since so much of the games are about messing with the world that exists.. And a silent protagonist makes it even more awkward.Ivogoji wrote:The Paper Mario games deserve an anime adaptation. So very much..
I would love to see a Metroid-something. Just so long as it is careful to cover things where character interaction is actually relevant and important, so not most of the games, and instead other things of the universe.
Anyway, Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War would make a well suited series, I think. Top choice of FE games, anyway (with Tellius games being second.)
There are also many other games that I would love to see adapted, but I am at a loss right now.
As for other works to video games, Eragon world seems like a fun RPG kind of world. Spell casting would use health, so that seems pretty novel.

There should be a Kingdom Hearts anime, so I don't have to scream every time I realize the games are spread out across 10 different platforms for no good reason.

Seeing as Mario has previously been unmuted for animation, comics, and live-action and even his game counterpart has been more a man of few words rather than a true silent protagonist, I think animators would have an easier time adapting him to non-interactive media in a way fans will accept than with other silent Nintendo protagonists.
On the other hand, part of me says Paper Mario would lend itself well to a series of shorts in the style of classic Tom and Jerry that plays heavily with the world of paper motif.
Anyways, I would like novelizations of any of the following:
Golden Sun
Ys. Especially since it's canon that series protagonist Adol Christin kept detailed records of his adventures(In fact, the opening narration of Oath in Felghana implies the games were adapted from Adol's journals).
The Legend of Zelda.
And while I wouldn't be able to enjoy them fully:
I think StarFox would do well as a 3D animated series, God of War would do well as Live Action, and Disgaea 2-5 and D2 are in need of Anime adaptations.
As for adapting non-Games to games:
I'd love to explore Hogwarts as part of a Text Adventure.
Namco Bandai needs to make a Pretty Cure All-Stars DX Fighter. All the biggest names in the Shounen Fight genre have had fighters and most have had several, I think the longest running Magical Girl Warrior franchise is long overdue, especially since Precure is known for having rather nice fight scenes outside of the girls' finishing moves.
A more general Magical Girl crossover fighter would be nice as well, though Precure could probably field a larger roster than every other Magical Girl Warrior series I'm familiar with put together.
Anacronauts by Stefen Gagne strikes me as a perfect fit for a hybrid Action RPG and Third Person Shooter. Floating Point, Gagne's current work, also strikes me as a good candidate, especially since it's already set in a virtual world that runs on Video Game physics.

Re: Things you'd like to see as Video Games and vise versa.
this is only a problem if you're stuck with a nintendo console or old ones tbh. the ps4 is receiving 2.8 which is 3's Prologue, Dream Drop Distance minus the 3DS's ********, and relevant story relating to a browser game no one cared to play outside japan. then later it's getting a port of a collection of 1.5 and 2.5 which cover the other games, originally sold as two separate compilations on the ps3. and 358/2 Days and Recoded just are scenes so you don't suffer their mediocre gameplay. perfect for preteen kiddos/teens interested in the series. but technically all you need is a 3ds and a ps3 these days if you're a little behind the times to play everything you need to. hardly 10 different platforms, anymore. js, but that would be cute to have an animation anyway. i know you're particular about games you like, but i'm used to owning multiple new platforms ... though i'm 24, at 14-15 i'm guessing you don't have that kinda money to blow, so i see where you're coming fromchaoadventures wrote:There should be a Kingdom Hearts anime, so I don't have to scream every time I realize the games are spread out across 10 different platforms for no good reason.
anyway, i'd like to see a bioshock tv show, there's a lot of backstory and character to explore. plus i kinda want pre-new years riots rapture better explored, i just like campy tv, retro dear :o

My point was that there's a Kingdom Hearts game on the PSP and two on the DS, which is the most arbitrary distribution I can think of, but that works too.

Something similar to Banjo & Kazooie : Nuts & Bolts, but not Banjo Kazooie, so people don't dismiss the game.

I have not thought about the Warrior cats series in many years, but it does seem like a fun world to see in game form. Maybe not by Telltale games (except for pun purposes) but I do see the appeal of the world.
You have enlightened me as to how a Paper Mario entry would work in non-video game form.Jeffery Mewtamer wrote:On the other hand, part of me says Paper Mario would lend itself well to a series of shorts in the style of classic Tom and Jerry that plays heavily with the world of paper motif.
