Nintendo's statement on A2MR
Nintendo's statement on A2MR
Since when did A2MR monetize itself?

Re: Nintendo's statement on A2MR
I'm aware that it would've been pretty silly to expect them not to take down AM2R after its release. It's a remake of a game that not only they were remaking, but that they were also selling on the Virtual Console. But does Reggie even know what he's talking about regarding monetisation, or is it just spin to make people who don't know a lot about the spectacle take their side?
I'm just glad AM2R is still readily accessible in this era of more Metroid, regardless.

Re: Nintendo's statement on A2MR
It was. Most fan games that they shut down without a second look don't take a single penny for their hard work, and are done out of pure love for the source material. If that's not a homage, I don't know what is. Meanwhile, "not-nintendo' clones on app stores run rampant and Nintendo doesn't bat a single eye at them, instead targeting small time hobbyists and indies on game-jolt.

Re: Nintendo's statement on A2MR
A homage is not a legal defense. It could technically be argued that AM2R monetized with its partnerships to metroid fan forums. We all know they did it because they were making a metroid 2 remake of their own tho, i dont get why we're pretending to be confused about Ninty's motivations.
