See this all the time on other forums, why not bring it here. A backlog, for those who don't know, is just a list of things that you would like to finish. In this case it would be games, that you've bought and haven't started or

I would post my backlog, but I'm actually going through a lot of it bit by bit. The only game I could truly say is indefinetly on my backlog would be Gotcha Force and Demon Souls, but I imagine I'll finish them later on.

Post games that have been on your backlog for a while, and you're not sure what to play next and we'll tell you why you should play a specific game for whatever reason.

Okay, most of these are older than me, and I'm already older than most on these forums, but maybe someone here has gone down similar routes and can say something to encourage me to prioritize these games over reading fanfiction.

I'd say Earthbound just because you liked Undertale, it has a great soundtrack and quirky writing that keeps the game fresh and gives it charm. Mario and Luigi is getting a 3DS remake, so wait for that if you're thinking of buying it, although it's good, it's more of a little brother to Paper Mario. Can't say much on Xenosaga.

Also if you're studying RPG's this'll help you get some taste. Specfically JRPG's here though.

I'm assuming these are old Commodore esque adventure games. Can't say I have much to say, but I do know that Zork is quite fun as I've played a bit of it back when I was a teenager at a gaming convention once. It's the most obvious answer I know, but I doubt anyone would give you a real answer.

Go with Psychonauts, I played a bit of it a few years back and had a lot of fun with it. Can't say much for it though due to not actually finishing it, but it was a nice platformer with A LOT to do from the get go. Plus, the writing was spot on and the humour was great. I love the fact you literally have to find emotional baggage inside people's heads.

F-Zero GX
Wario World
Psychonauts
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
DBZ: Buu's Fury
Sonic Chrono Adventure

Out of what I've played of both Earthbound and Superstar Saga with my brother, I'd say that I personally highly recommend Earthbound.

Can't say nothin' about Xenosaga though.

Actually, I just never played Earthbound before and wanted to see what the big deal was. I'm not expecting anything like Undertale out of it.

^ Probably don't. I don't know what you enjoyed out of Undertale (I just played Undertale for my first time two weeks ago! It was great.) Earthbound has similar quirkiness, but doesn't have the same kind of weird plot related meta-awareness of Undertale. Still fun. I am not as huge on Earthbound as a lot of people are. I think it is a fun turn based JRPG, but was not life changing for me.

I played Luigi's Mansion for my first time a few months ago. Very fun, fairly short, quite spooky, in its own way.
F-Zero story is really hard, and not remarkable for plot. Racing is fun, and a unique weird crazy gravity kind of game.
Buu's Fury isn't a game I have thought of since about 2005. My favorite of DBZ GBA games. I have no idea how I would like it now. I think it would still be fun. Punch based RPG sort of. A lot of side content.

I need to play Psychonauts.

Xenoblade Chronicles X
Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Chrono Cross
Final Fantasy IX

(and hopefully I find some games to break up the many long RPG's on my list.)

Symphony of the Night if you want to have to play the original Metroidvania. FF9 if you want to have a great JRPG experience, it's honestly considered one of the best FF games.

XCX is fun I guess, I never got far into it. It felt like one of those games that was so huge you get bored of running around and going from place to place. Plus the combat system and several aspects of the game are ridiculously convoluted for no real reason, and require you to thoroughly read the manual to understand. But if that's your jam go for it. The game looks beautiful and the world is really huge.

Can't say much for Chrono Cross, never got around to playing it after finishing Chrono Trigger.

Ivogoji wrote: For Frogs the Bell Tolls Finished it this year, a very fun short game that was quite basic but made up for it by it's gameplay, story and characters. I'd go for this option to most to be honest.
Wind Waker It's a Zelda game, has a pretty bad start since I dislike the Fortress at the beginning, but it's a solid entry that's really fun. I'd say you're looking at 30-50 hours depending on how you play. I hope you enjoy the comfy sailing though, you're going to be doing a lot of it.
I'd say go for one of those two. The rest are fine games, but I can't really think of a reason to play them over these. Although you could wait for the DX version of For the Frog the Bell Tolls to be released, as someone is working on one.
