THE FIGHTING ROBOT
MEGA MAN PAPER DOLLS
The return of Mega Man is upon us, only after, what 7 years? Geez. I'm lucky I started playing these somewhat recently.
I finished 1 and 2, but haven't finished 3 (too hard) or 7 (don't tell me how to get past the truck yet).
---
First thing's first:
All of the Mega Man X games are releasing in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. Presumably in a Legacy Collection like release.
Then, the 2 Classic Mega Man Collections are releasing on the Switch, once again, in 2018.
And now it's time for the best part:
Mega Man 11.
Yes. Capcom has remembered that at one point in time, they made new Mega Man games.
Well. That's it for the things that made me post this topic.

Re: Mega Man Megathread
I am quite excited. Mega Man 9 was my favorite, so I have faith in the continuation of the series after a long break. I would have preferred NES style art, but I am down for new Mega Man regardless. Art style wise, and perhaps more generally, this seems like it may have been a direct response to the downfall of Might Number 9.
Also glad to see a Mega Man X collection. I have 1-6 on PS2, and I know 7 and 8 are not considered too great, but I am happy to see it anyway. And good they will be on Switch. I don't have a Switch yet, but portable Mega Man will be fun.

Retraux overstayed its welcome after indies ran it into the ground and turned it into a joke. I'm glad it's taken a 2.5d approach much like X8 did.

... but I think that mostly has to do with the fact that this might be really really early work. It doesn't reflect well on them, releasing images for a game this early in development, but it gives me hope.

I thought they should have just stayed with the SNES/PS1 sprite art style personally.
The NES sprites seemed like a complete downgrade from 7 and 8 to me, when 9 and 10 were released.
Or made it look like the concept art for Mighty No. 9's gameplay that was indolently tossed aside for the final product and swapped for mediocre Unity 3D store assets.
If anything I'm more bothered by Mega Man's lack of idle animation making him look extremely stiff. It's very most likely early pre-release material, but it seems to be what really irks me about the style.

Lets be real, MM11 is basically the same thing as most other megaman games. Inafune says "hey this" and capcom says "hey, make what inafune said, but play it safe."
only difference is this time inafune isn't getting paid for it.
