Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (News: Video!)
News: I made a video about this, but it goes from SADX to SA2B. It works exactly the same both ways either way.

How to transfer Chao between Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Sonic Adventure Director's Cut
This is one of the biggest questions we continue to hear, so I will be explaining it detail by detail, step by step.
Step 1: Equipment
First you will need, of course, a Gamecube or Wii with a Gamecube Controller, Gamecube Memory Card, and the games mentioned before. The things you might not have is a Gameboy Advance of any kind, and a Gameboy Advance to Gamecube coil (Also called a GBA to GC Coil.). A game containing a Tiny Chao Garden in it (such as Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 2, or Sonic Pinball Party) may also be used, but is not required. Having all of these you are ready to transfer Chao.
If you do not know what one of these looks like, do an image search and it should look familiar to you.
Step 2: Drop Off
Now that you have your equipment, you have to prepare to send your Chao to the other game. For an example, we will be starting on SA2B.
First, turn on the game and go to your Chao Garden (a given) and find the Chao you want to send over. This should be pretty easy if you've been playing for even a few seconds.
Next, take your Chao over to the machine that has an Original Gameboy Advance on it. Your character should toss the Chao into the machine and a list of options should come up.
You are now viewing something that you should have seen before. There are two options you can take over than to leave the list. Drop Off and Goodbye. This time you will want Drop Off because Goodbye will lead to how you removed a Chao from a garden and say goodbye to it forever.
Step 3: Receiving the Chao
Once you select Drop Off, you should see three options that are all based on the controller ports on the system you are using. This is when you connect the GBA and GC with the coil. Normally you would have to have an empty Chao Garden to do this, but if you do the next part, you will see a cooler way to do it.
Turn on the GBA, with no game in it. The Drop Off list should notice it. Click on it and it will ask if you want to send a copy of your Chao to the GBA. Say Yes both times and a copy will be made along with a temporary memory of a Tiny Chao Garden. Now it is time to turn off your current game on your Gamecube/Wii and keep the GBA on.
Step 4: Pick Up
At this point, you should have the GBA still on and start up SADX and get to the garden. Once you know you have room for another Chao (in DX you have to count since they don't have a Move function) go to the machine once again, but this time without a Chao.
Select the option Pick Up and you should see three lists. Those lists will list the Chao, a possible Egg you could have bought, the rings you could have gained in the Mini-Games, and any Fruit sitting in the Tiny Chao Garden. Select what you want to take out, most likely the Chao, and it will process and spit a Chao out of the machine.
It is now safe to turn off the GBA and go about whatever you planned to do once you moved your Chao. It's not all that hard. If you can't understand anything, send a message to me, Crazo3077, and I will break it down any lower than I can.

Re: Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (Open for Questions)
Thanks to help from Fusion unlocking this topic for me, people may now post questions if they ran into a problem while attempting this.
Along with that, I shall be making a few videos explaining how it works. The first will have to be supplies of course because it's very obviously important.

Do u have to have a game boy advance and a GC GBA coil to do it or can u tranfer it to memory card
pineapples never wear bathrobes?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!
Re: Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (Open for Questions)
You need a Gameboy Advance and the cord if you want to transfer between Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Sonic Adventure DX. It is the only way. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle you can use Move to transfer the Chao between Memory Cards but you also need this to transfer between Memory Cards on Sonic Adventure DX because it doesn't have the Move function.

Re: Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (News: Video!)
why don't you use sonic advance?
I always do. . .
I always do. . .
Re: Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (News: Video!)
For three reasons.darksminky wrote:why don't you use sonic advance?
I always do. . .
1. I don't have three copies of Sonic Advance. I only have one copy of Sonic Advance and a copy of the 2 Pack: Sonic Advance and Sonic Pinball Party. I couldn't make the video without using the empty cartage.
2. The empty cartage results in a clone, which is a great thing to take advantage of cloning.
3. Not everyone has to time and money to track down a copy of Sonic Advance and buy it.

Do you live in Pittsfield, MA? At the gamestop in the mall, they have a Sonic advance for eight dollars.
Re: Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (News: Video!)
I live in North West Indiana. And right now I'm saving up money for an anime convention and plan to purchase Sonic Advance 2 so I have one of each form of Tiny Chao Garden.

Re: Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (News: Video!)
Anyone know if the GBA to GC coil works on DS? It looked like it had the right end piece.
Re: Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (News: Video!)
The GBA to GC cable is only compatible with the Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, and Gameboy Player.

Re: Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (News: Video!)
ah man this sucks. I lost my SP, my gamecube didn't come with a gameboy player, and the one gameboy advance that I got, we needed to return DX
Re: Transfering Between SA2B and SADX (News: Video!)
Most Game Stops and Disc Replays still sell Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, and Gameboy Player, so you could still get one.
