Re: How to use the Role-Playing forum.
I know you would never do that, Darkie. >.> It's just an example. Ok I've RP'ed with you twice.
Your ways of RP'ing:
"Hey, guys. Sorry I was late."
You should do it like this:
I looked around. People stared at me. "Hey, guys. Sorry I was late," Darkie said apologetically.
You should put said, or any tone on how the person is feeling. It gives the RP'er or reader a better understanding of how the person feels or is saying the words. Just a suggestion~SuperTailz

Re: How to use the Role-Playing forum.
What do you mean? When your character, talks twice in the same paragraph? Like this?
"W-why...why, Darkness?" Darkie asked, "Why did you lie?"

Well, if that is your way of RP'ing, then I guess I cannot change it. But if you ever decide to publish a book, try to use the suggestion I used. Please.

Re: How to use the Role-Playing forum.
You do not always have to state which character says something.
Often when there is a conversation between only two characters, quotes tend to alternate between the two characters.
So following Zena... er, excuse me, Darkie's example, it would be similar to this:
"Hey wassup?" Darkie asked.
"Not much" Bob said, sounding sick.
"Really? you sound sick." //This would be considered Darkie's quote, even in a novel.
"(insert other quote here)" //THIS would be considered Bob's quote, even in a novel.
"(insert another quote here)" Darkie (did such and such and then:) "(insert yet another quote here)" //all of this is Darkie's dialogue
"(insert YET ANOTHER quote here)" //and this would be Bob's dialogue again.
In reality, there would be indentations for each line of dialogue in a novel, but it is impossible to do them normally, so they can, for the most part, be ignored when RPing.
If a third character joins the conversation, then you do need to add more distinction to whom is speaking, but it still does not need to be as strict as you say, SuperTailz.
All of this is assuming that the above example is in one post. Even then, however, were it actually compiled into a novel, it would likely be edited to look like the above example.

Are you limited to the number of role-plays you can be in?

No.
At least, I don't believe so.
But don't join so many it would be hard to get to them all.

Re: How to use the Role-Playing forum.
Yes, Wolfie, in most Role-plays it is allowed - On this site, anyway. It's known as script Role-playing. The only time it isn't allowed is when it says somewhere in the first post (Most likely in the Rules of the Role-play.) you aren't allowed to do it.

No, but there SHOULD be a rule of that. Some people just don't know when to stop joining RPs.Yoshichao4 wrote:Are you limited to the number of role-plays you can be in?

I finally think I can handle joining a RP.
Now just find one to join.

Re: How to use the Role-Playing forum.
Why the hell would you need to bump a sticky?
Anyway, this should be included in the rules, considering how things are.
Take an idea that already exists, or get an unoriginal playing field, that's already been done before in different ways.
Make each player a preexisting character, or a fan-character who is superior to all.
Do not for any reason come up with a good plot. This is taboo.
Do non-sensical things that relate to the preexisting universe you used as a template. (See rule one)
Try to not capitalize any letters. Or use punctuation.

Haha, picka.
I think I need help for an original RP, but I'm inspired by someone. And I think I made too many RPs, and joined too many.
What should I do?

Re: How to use the Role-Playing forum.
Politely tell the creator of the RP you would like to quit in either a PM or a short post in the RP. as for the RP's you created ending them suddenly could cause some people to get a bit peeved. if you dont want anyone to get annoyed or frustrated though you can just pass on ownership to someone you trust in the RP.

I follow the one-month thing. Even with stickies.
It's kind of hard to find a good RP, since a lot of, um, below-average RPs take up tons of room. Now, it's really hard to find a good RP with good players. You could have a great idea for a RP and post it, and the next thing you know, is that a lot of... below-average RPers have cluttered the topic with below-average characters and such.
