Talents
I just auditioned for the school talent show, and I think I'm in.
My main talent is playing the bass guitar; it's a five stringer.
What's YOUR talent?

I'm untalented, but I am curious about other people's talents.

Re: Talents
^So am I, unfortunately. Unless you count playing videogames expertly (which I doubt), I have no talent.
Re: Talents
When forced to do any sort of talent show-esque thing (like I have to do for my calculus class tomorrow) my default is epic Rubik's Cube Solving: solving a Rubik's cube to intense and music and dramatics. Otherwise, I am not a singer or dancer, but I can act moderately well, I suppose, but more for stage production than a talent-show monologue situation.

Re: Talents
My talents are narrative writing, expository writing, editing, poetry, literary analysis, and a thorough understanding of US History (this one I didn't intend, but happened while researching various papers). I have always had a deep understanding of writing and could use sophisticated writing techniques as soon as they were taught. Before anyone says they have no talents, consider that a talent is synonymous with aptitude. If for instance solving math problems always come naturally to you once you have been given initial guidance, that is your talent. The average person has around four to five natural talents. If you play video games well, you have at least one--hand-eye coordination--and this can be objectively gauged. Contrary to popular belief, talent is not based on how well you do something, but on how naturally something comes to you and how precisely--not how accurately--you can preform it.
Popular culture has made us believe we must have some special or eccentric, flawless ability, when all you need to have is a knack. Talent gives you an affinity for something, but only motivation, learning, and practice will turn it into something productive, and I tell you that from experience.

Okay well, jokes aside, I guess I can sing a bit. I try to draw, but, eh, doesn't really work out. I also can learn songs quickly.

Re: Talents
Since I do actually forget to breathe at times, I would make some comment about sleeping, but I'm not good at that either.
This is troubling.
I guess I can alphabetize stuff? Let's go with that.

Re: Talents
Perhaps drawing and writing, and if gaming counts, for me. Outside of that, I don't usually try my hand at enough different things to find something else that I would be talented with.

I can write poetry, play Brawl proffesionally (Been to a proffesionally hosted tournament and did incredibly well for a first-timer using Kirby), and can run long distance.

Re: Talents
I will tell you guys if I made the cut.
But the song I am able to play is Everlong, by Foo Fighters...
At least... That's the song I put in. I can play other songs.
But this isn't a contest, guys. It's just... What can you do that's unique and deserves to be of mention? I'm impressed by how many people posted, and their talents.

Re: Talents
I use to have excellent hand-eye coordination, though being mostly blind has shot that to hell. Turns out I have equally impressive hand-ear coordination, as after just a month or so using a computer solely via screen reader and keyboard, I am able to perform at a level comparable to what I use to manage with mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Its been years, but the last time my keyboarding proficiency was evaluated, I scored around 50 words per minute with 95% accuracy.
@Mamkute: I salute you for being able to solve a Rubik's Cube and do it to a level sufficient to amaze non-puzzlers. I have never managed to solve one, even with directions in front of me. I have, however, solved a Pyraminx Crystal and seven color rainbow cube without assistance, and come very close to solving a monotone Fisher's Cube. You might be interested in the community over at twistypuzzles.com.
I like to think my singing is decent, though I can no longer sing a decent tenor like I could in elementary school. Not bad as a baritone or bass singer though. I also managed to teach myself the melody of Ode to Joy on Piano last summer despite having never played piano in my life.
Computer Programming comes naturally to me, and my detached retina posed little obstacle to my learning of C++ over the last school year.
My ability for math would stun most, though I struggle with anything at or above Calculus and I cannot tackle statistics to save my life.
I am a decent gamer, though nothing worth bragging about except for my time attack prowess in Sonic Advance 2(still ranked 14th on that game over at the Sonic Center as of the last time I checked despite having not submtted any new times in nearly a decade). On that note, I would love to get a new copy of Sonic Advance 2, hack my times from the Sonic Center into its save data and see if I can outdo myself playing on my DS Classic(I lost my original copy back when I only had the SP to play on).
That is about all I can think of.

I'm an okay composer I guess ((http://tindeck.com/users/Skyral - has some non-music stuff too, mainly stupid inside jokes and shenanigans))
I used to write a lot but it never got noticed so I stopped.
