The Metroid Fan-Club *Official* (9 Members)

Post by Jack Augustine »

Hey guys. I've been a fan of Metroid for a long time. Having noticed that there are some Metroid fans out there in the world of Chao Island, I decided to make this Club so we can all gather together and talk about what we love (and hate) most about Metroid.

MEMBERS
1. Loudclaw (Founder)
2. Flame
3. AtomicBat
4. Maximilian Roivas
5. PinkIceFox
6. chaorain
7. SonicBoom
8. Mirathak: The Green
9. piccolo289

From here on out, if you want to be a part of this usergroup, you can PM me. I'll make the announcement on here, and add you in.

RULES

1. Be respectful of others. For example, I don't want Crash32 butting in and shouting his hatred of Metroid at us.
2. Don't tease others if they have problems with anything; help out. That's what we're here for.
3. Metroid haters? I don't want them trolling... If you don't like Metroid, why are you here?
4. Have fun, and feel safe discussing Metroid here...

Long time Metroid fan, myself. My favorite game is undecided between Other M and Metroid Fusion. But I like every game, so far. I'll join.

I have gone through a phase of great enjoyment from Metroid last summer, attempting to beat every game (Prime Hunters and its awkward -beyond-all-reason control scheme and its being completely-unnecessary-to-the-greater-Prime-plot plot shot that effort down.) Still, I very much enjoy Metroid, even when it forced me into the FPS genre (which I am not normally a fan of.)

That being said, though, I do not believe in clubs. I just wanted to converse on Metroid. Sorry for butting in.

No, you're welcome here, Mamkute! Feel free to drop in when you want.

Only people who aren't welcome are Metroid haters who just... hate everything about it, and try to impose on everyone else. People who are new to Metroid are welcome to drop in for tips!

I think I'll join. Tried a metroid fusion no-save run. Made it to Sirrus before an unfortunate end.

Meh I understand. They could easily have just mapped the Prime control scheme to it, because it has all the same buttons as the GC Controller (Give or take; Z becomes Select). That would have made it so much easier.

Bumping.

Wow, I just... I just did it. I just beat Metroid Prime... 80% items. God that boss was hard... But I managed to fight it to the end, after only three deaths on it.

Personally, I think that the elite you get the phazon suit from is tougher. Metroid prime is just long.

well as Loudclaws signature says that he is the ultimate survivor... there are many who would disagree...

I am one of them... then again I have played Super Metroid almost since it first came out for the Super Nintendo...

let's see... my path for getting stuff...

Morphball, missiles 1 and 2... E tank (blue brinstar), Bombs, then there is the other E tank that is a "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this." kind of deal.

Green Brinstar. Mock ball across Gate Bridge to get 1 R tank, 3 missiles, and 1 super missile... I then skip Sporespawn and get a second set of Supers along with the charge beam and 2 more missiles. This is where I diverge from the main path entirely... I walljump to the top of red soil brinstar and get 2 sets of Power Bombs early along with some missiles...

from here I go and get a third Power Bomb in Crateria along with another Energy tank and 2 sets of missiles. Afterwards I go through Brinstar again and bomb the lower part of green area... I get another Energy tank and Super Missiles along with a Power Bomb tank.

I then go after the E tank behind the Power Bomb door in the other section of Brinstar.

At this point my item list looks like this:
Spoiler:
Energy tanks:5
Key items: Morphball, Bombs, Reserve tank, Charge Beam
Missiles: 13 xpans (65)
Super Missiles: 3 (15)
Power Bombs: 5 (25)
Back in red brinstar again I go down now and get Spazer and then head into Norfair. I get an e tank, hi jump, and a missile tank. Afterwards...

I mock ball through the room with 2 gates in it and go after Ice beam without Varia.

Afterwards I head right into Norfair and get Wave beam and Speed Booster along with 4 sets of missiles. From here I leave Norfair and head back to the surface and head for the wrecked ship... at this point my gear looks like...
Spoiler:
Energy tanks:6
Key items: Morphball, Bombs, 2 Reserve tanks, Charge Beam, Spazer, wave, ice, hi jump, Speed booster
Missiles: 19 xpans (95)
Super Missiles: 3 (15)
Power Bombs: 5 (25)
Now then... "it's impossible to get into the Wrecked Ship without grapple" you say... well it's not... pull off a short Speed boost charge for a shine spark (obviously after opening the Power Bomb door) and shine spark through the door and into the next room. getting a Missile xpan in the process... I get a missile tank in the water below in the next room... Now here is where i turn Hi jump off and jump across the platforms to the green door into the Wrecked Ship. While the ship is inactive I get one missile tank. I then head down and face off against Phantoon.

(WARNING: DO NOT SHOOT HIS EYE WITH A SUPER... the end result of that is inevitable death cause No varia = no defense.)

After defeating Phantoon I get... 2 supers, 4 missiles, 1 energy tank, Gravity suit, and a Reserve Tank. Now I'm heading into Maridia...

My stuff so far
Spoiler:
Energy tanks:7
Key items: Morphball, Bombs, 3 Reserve tanks, Charge Beam, Spazer, wave, ice, hi jump, Speed booster, Gravity Suit
Missiles: 23 xpans (115)
Super Missiles: 5 (25)
Power Bombs: 5 (25)
In maridia now after defeating Phantoon first.... awesome... though there isn't much that I can do here at the moment (Though I HAVE glitched the green gate to get into Maridia proper.) So I just leave Maridia and head back down into Norfair again... Now I can do more in Norfair that I couldn't do earlier.

For one I can get a missile tank in the lava then I can go and kill Crocomire to get...

2 missiles, 1 e tank, 1 Power Bomb, and Grapple.(Now granted I COULD go into Lower Norfair and get Screw Attack along with some other *I think when I get another USB controller for my comp I'll do just that... go and get screw attack...*)

Anyways after getting grapple I head back into Maridia (obviously I bomb the glass out)

here I get 8 missiles, 3 supers, 2 E tanks, 1 Power bomb, Spring ball, Space Jump, and Plasma Beam.

Upon defeating Draygon I now head into Lower Norfair.

Lower Norfair... I get... 4 missiles, 1 super, 2 e tanks, 2 power bombs, and Screw Attack.

My equipment looks something like this...
Spoiler:
Energy tanks:12
Key items: Morphball, Bombs, 4 Reserve tanks, Charge Beam, Spazer, wave, ice, hi jump, Speed booster, Gravity Suit, Plasma beam, Space Jump, Spring ball, Screw Attack, Grapple
Missiles: 35 xpans (185)
Super Missiles: 9 (45)
Power Bombs: 9 (45)
After defeating Ridley I go about finding the rest of the items that I need and then kill Kraid with 2-3 charged Plasma Beam shots to the face.

Afterwards I get Varia and another E tank... From here I head for Tourian and kill Mother Brain.

Item % 100
Game Time: 2:35:45
PERFECT ending...

Now... not saying that I am the best at the game... far from it... There is someone who can pull off a reverse boss order and beat the game in under my time (as well as Item collection).
