I need help getting a shiny!

I've tried since the release of Peal and Diamond to get myself a shiny Evee, and I've had no luck. I'm playing Y now and I really would like to get one it to add to the empty slot in my team. So I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of anything I could do, because I've tried breeding an Evee with a Japanese Ditto and using to poke radar. I've tried running around in tall grass randomly hoping to get one. The funny thing about it is that I ran into the pokerus in the wild, and yet I just can't seem to get a shiny! XD
So again, if anyone could help I would truly appreciate it!

Run in patches of grass that have Eevees specifically is about all you can do to improve your chances, if you aren't already. Otherwise, your best bet would be hoping somebody is generous enough to give you one.

I suggest you keep at the breeding. I got my Shiny Clauncher that way. It took me 151 Eggs but it was totally worth it. I suggest you have a Fletchinder or Talonflame in your party, because the Ability Flame Body speeds up the Egg-hatching process.

*sigh* the only thing about hatching eggs is that I've hatched almost 500 eggs all together..... most of them I've hatched in Y, and like you said I've kept my Talonflame in my party with me. Also I've asked people if they would be kind enough to trade me one, I've even offered to trade people the shiny Beedrill a friend gave me(which is also the only shiny that I've ever owned), I also said that I would infect it with the Pokerus for them. But everyone has always gotten really rude with me....... I've also ran around in tall grass outside of the town that their around...... I guess I'm just not meant to have one than... =___=

Okay now this is the easiest way to get a shiny eevee
Add a person with an eevee friend safari
Go on a safari with them
The chance of a shiny in friend safari is about 1/2000 from what I know. Or maybe 1/200 my memory is bad. Either way it's the most effective method. I tried breeding a shiny eevee then found out you have a less chance with a shiny eevee then most other bred shinies.

The thing is with that idea is that I don't know anyone with Evee's in their friend safari...... =______=

I also head about a secret trainer ID thingy, it's like suppose to help with your chances of getting a shiny or something. I was wondering how big of a role that it plays in the concept.

the secret id is supposed to show what pokemon you can breed and get a higher chance (to the point that several people had said "100% chance") of hatching a shiny.

I'm trying to further my knowledge on shiny Pokémon and how to get them, mainly because there's a handful of them that I would like to own..... and above all I would love to get a shiny Evee!

in X/Y there is a thing called O-Powers...they increase things, and one is called 'Encounter Power', that increases the chance of finding wild pokemon. Add on a Volbeat with Illuminate (increases the chance of finding wild pokemon if lead in party) and you'll be swarmed by pokemon, increasing your chances. Sweet Scent also causes hordes to appear in most routes, helping that out too.

If you're up for completing the entire national Pokedex, I'd recommend trying to get the shiny charm. Iirc it increases the chances of finding a shiny by about three times the original amount.

You can do this fishing trick to get shinies from fishing. The first shiny I EVER saw was a shiny Basculin. But it killed itself.
It killed itself.
IT FREAKING KILLED ITSELF.

Make sure you're good at reeling in pokemon, and you will need a pokemon that has Suction Cups and is fainted, and at the top of your party.

You can't fish for Eevee.

As stated above I have tried the pokeradar, but it didn't go over well. Because I"m not very good at keeping a steady chain. I had watched many tutorials on YouTube about keeping chains, but I feel like in the end I ended up wasting all my money on repels (I already had about 200 poke balls)
I've heard that too many people have been using the fishing trick and water type shiny Pokémon have lost a lot of value. But if it's something you want you can't put a price on it right?
I also wouldn't mind finishing my National dex. However I must wait until poke bank comes out for me. Because I just so happen to be one of the very lucky Americans who do not have the poke bank.
Also adding on that note, I probably won't be able to finish it because everyone who owns a legendary I need ends up being a jerk.
For instance, the other day someone was showing their Pokémon to trade with me. I had shown them a shiny Beedrill and they shown me a shiny mew level 100. While my shiny Beedrill is only level 51 I believe. So I then offered my entire team consisting of the special event Blazekin, Greninja, Yavaltal, Venasuar, and Lapris. Which are all Level 100, excluding my Lapris whom is only level 99, with just a touch of exp until 100.
After that I just ignored the fact he wouldn't take anything I tried to give him. So then we kept looking at other Pokémon, but every time he would post a pokemon they were sure to follow it up by a quick flash of his Mew.
I don't know what to take of it but I saw it as a first class Jerk and showoff.
Also if by chance the person who was trading with me reads this, my trainer's name is Ivy.... =__= I remember your name was Edwin...........
I also want to add I know it may not be a good trade because it's a Mew of course and I have no poke bank to have any of the good legendary Pokémon to trade.

I have some great news!!! I had changed what Eevee I was using to breed and on the third egg I ended up getting a shiny Eevee! :D
it may have taken over 1,000 eggs but I got one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My next goal is to breed a shiny Froaki (I think that's how it's spelt.)
But first I want to find someone who's not a jerk and willing to trade me a Mew for a few shinny's a friend didn't want and gave me.

Well I want to try with some random Pokémon the duplication glitch, and keep one copy a first evolution and the other a Vaporeon. Which I'm doubting the glitch really works, which if it does I'll be scared to try it with my Eevee, ^_^;

I'll probably test it with some Zorua's and Eevee's that were bred. (Because my older sis is trying to breed to get a shiny Zorua, but she's having as much luck as I did.)
