A question about shinies.

Post by Jeffery Mewtamer »

It feels kinda spammy to ask this, but being functionally blind renders most of the common sources for this kind of information useless.

Specifically, other than Gyarados, are there any G1/2 pokemon who gain a predominantly red and/or pink color scheme when shiny? If so, could you provide a description of the shiny's color scheme?

In general, does anyone know of a source that provides text descriptions of how each pokemon's color scheme changes between normal and shiny?

Hmm, that's interesting. I don't know of a source that gives descriptions for shiny Pokemon, so I'll try my best to describe the ones that seem to fit your criteria.

Metapod - Entire body becomes red
Drowzee - Upper half of body becomes a sort of grape pink; lower half of body becomes dark fuchsia
Hypno - Entire body becomes fuchsia (besides the white ring of fur around its neck)
Jynx - Red dress becomes pink
Magmar - The red portions of its body become reddish pink while the yellow portions become pale pink
Moltres - Body becomes pink; beak and feet become red
Dratini - Blue becomes pink
Dragonair - Blue becomes pink; the blue orbs on its neck and tail become orange
Furret - Brown sections of its body become fuchsia, cream-colored sections become a very pale pink
Crobat - Body and wings become pink; wing membranes become green
Mareep - Cream-colored wool becomes pink
Ampharos - Yellow becomes pink; red orbs become blue
Skiploom - Green body becomes fuchsia
Jumpluff - Blue body becomes pink; cream-colored puffs become white with a purple tint
Aipom - Purple portions become fuchsia; cream-colored portions become pale pink
Wooper - Blue body becomes pale pink; branching gills on its head become coral-colored
Murkrow - Black becomes fuchsia
Sneasel - Gray body becomes pink; red feathers become yellow
Wobbuffet - Blue body becomes fuchsia
Celebi - Pale green portions become pale pink; darker green portions become fuchsia

the site upokecenter lists every gen4 pokemon sprite as NORMAL and SHINY [whatever color the shiny is] in the hyperlink alt text. Its annoying to click through each pokemon and it goes only through generation 4, but its the best I have got. You accessibility program should be able to read it out.

@Platypus: Thanks for that list.

@Palmpoa: Could you provide a link? Typing the site name into Google doesn't seem to be helping.
