Pokemon Fan Games
Anyone ever try any of these? I think Pokemon Reborn is a pretty big one, I've played through some and it's tough as nails. I really am looking forward to Pokemon: Phoenix Rising, lame name but looks really stellar! Eternal Gates also looks very neat and had a good, New Zealandy demo.
There's also things like Pokemon Academy Life, which looks to be super ambitious, and ROM hacks, so anything like that can be discussed here!

Re: Pokemon Fan Games
I haven't really taken a look at these honestly. Also I'd have to be on a hunt for ones without Fakemon because they'll either leave me wishing I never saw them or that they were real.
But I got RPG Maker XP during a Steam sale, so I could use Pokemon Essentials to make one if I wanted to. Heck, I could probably make a Robopon game with this too.

Pokemon Brown and Pokemon Prism look pretty creative.
But sometimes simplicity is best, as in Moemon.

Re: Pokemon Fan Games
Pokemon Insurgence has a more grown up and RPG styled storyline and, while it does include TCG-inspired Delta Pokemon (Alola-like type shifts), they all closely resemble the originals and so are far from being considerable as fakemon.
What I'd really like to see though is either something less about stats and more about tactics (a la Stadium) or something with a greater focus on raising and bonding with your pokemon, rather than just having them as mindless fightslaves.

I'd like a hack where all battles become double battles. Like Colosseum. Thunderdance is magic.

Re: Pokemon Fan Games
Pokemon Uranium is dead; get it while you still can (easily at least). Because Nintendo's on a Cease and Desist roll this month.
If you don't know (I certainly didn't.) Uranium was in development for about 9 years. I didn't hear about it, but it has Fakemon so I'm ultimately uninterested.
Seems like the more something lingers "in development" online, the bigger chance of it getting destroyed on release. Might wanna keep this in mind while waiting for some of these to come out.

Re: Pokemon Fan Games
What Uranium does well are double battles, the method of starter selection and its visuals. What it does badly IMO, however, are most of its fakemon designs and making the path clear.
