[SA2PC] Unused Chao Model ?

[SA2PC] Unused Chao Model ?
Apparently Sonic adventure 2 was supposed to use the model "Low polygons chao" if the chao are far away the camera (like Sonic adventure dreamcast)
by searching many address with SAMDL with the DLL of Sonic adventure 2 HD and explore the models of chao, i found (for the moment) 3 chao models unused
here the address (set the Key to 10002000 and the Format to SA2) :
233254 = low polygon chao level 1
234FD4 = low polygon chao level 2
236734 = low polygon chao level 3
and here the screenshots for people that don't have SAMDL :

i didn't know there low model chao in this game, i must search more

the bottom model is absolutely identical to the low poly cutscene chao from SA1 dreamcast and is likely a leftover, but the second one is used in the "find the lost chao" missions. the top one looks like the final one to me.

SA2 Steam is a port of a port and a fairly lazy one at that. Isn't surprising that there would be left over assets that the original might have needed for performance reasons but the Steam version has no need for.

They look a lot like LOD models to me.

i found more chao model, i thinks this is from the battle menu (not texture loaded)
also there tails model that look familiar :
this one is not about the chao, but i guess this is from route 280 when rouge found tails

that looks almost identical to tails' SA1 model and if it's not what you said then i assume it's a leftover from SA1DC sky chase due to the low-poly hands

It's most likely either the Sky Chase model, SA1DC or otherwise, or the SA2 racing model, as the lower body seems to be nonexistent.

I found a unused chao lobby model and as you can see it looks very unfinished.
Maybe I could find more unused models...

Are you sure that's not just the lobby without exits and most of it's textures (Especially the glowy transparent ones)?
I mean, there's an entire gap for the Chao Kindergarten, which makes it look like all the exits/entrances could just be separate models.

Oh it's a unused model, I wouldn't be able to open used models in the program I used to open the unused model or else it would crash. For some reason you cannot edit unused models in SA2B. As for the exits, they are all object models that are added to the level model which is why your not seeing them right now, so yeah they're separate models. The removed textures or "glowy transparent ones" are there because the texture file I used to open the unused model doesn't have the object textures in them. So basically its all white and glowing like that because the textures that are suppose to be there are part of the chao lobby object texture file "al_lobby_obj_tex.prs" and I couldn't open both the texture files at once.

I meant how most of textures have some sort of fancy effect in the final version that makes the stairs and several other things transparent and glow.
Either way, it still looks like Sonic Team copy-pasted the same model, textured it, and then left the old one in because they're lazy.
The finished one from the outside looks the same as the unfinished one from the outside to me.

Yeah Sonic Team is pretty lazy at times lol, the glowy effects on the stairs and such i'm not quite sure about because even when I made a lobby texture, there was no texture to edit the stairs. I think Lost World was only on Wii U because of a temporary contract with Nintendo.
I'd get it if someone made a mod that made all the levels flat though.
The first half of the Zelda DLC with flat ground was the one of the best 2 minutes of Sonic.
