I don't know. I always change it to Knuckles Chao, but when I go out of the garden and back in, it's not there! I've done this over 3 times. :/

That is very odd. It works fine for me.

  1. Have you tried changing other chao instead, or just one specific chao?
  2. What is the current type (first evolution) of the chao that you are trying to change?
  3. When you leave the garden and come back, does the chao keep its previous type or disappear entirely?
  4. Does the same problem happen if you set it to a Tails or Amy chao?
  5. Does the same problem happen if you set it to a different, regular first evolution?

I tried it. It is very, very good! o_O
I made the fruits size 200 so I can get its stamina stat up higher. I also removed the Chao's animal parts.

This is amazing, thanks Fusion. :D

I spotted a mistake in the Help and Information section of the Fruits page.

This is actually incorrect. It's left over from an older stage when that was the case, but I already improved it. You can create new fruit in empty slots.

I'll fix that text in the next version. I intend to release a new version fairly soon with fixes for the issues found in this initial release, but I'll try to come up with some new features to include too to make it worth downloading.

.Chao files? Do you encrypt them in any way? If so(and even if not), we need to talk. This sounds like it could be a useful little feature for both of us. I'm sure you've heard of my Tiny Chao Garden? Well, how about having mine and your .chao files work together?

"Texture 12: Yellow" makes a good Super Sonic chao texture.

I didn't see any need to encrypt the data. I just read and write the chao's memory region to a binary file with a small header section included before that data.

Perhaps. What do you have in mind? Just making the two fully compatible and/or identical? I'm not sure how well that would work. It should be easy enough for you to read my complete .chao file, but it might not be so easy for you to create a file with enough data for a full SADX PC chao.

I was thinking of just making them compatible. Like, exporting a .chao from SA:DX and importing it into my game, and exporting a chao from my game to import into yours. Of course, I'm guessing that the original PC Chao Garden has a fuck-ton of variables, compared to mine.

I'm downloading this now, I'll need to take a look at how the save file looks.

Edit: Oh, hey! Unreadable data! (I guess I should have expected this).
Well this is sad and depressing. I have no idea what does what, and really don't have the time to experiment with it all. Hm. Not to be rude, but would sending the source of your program do me any good in figuring out what does what?

Everyone keep an eye out for newer SADX memory chao editor vids (c.1 week before thre release, or after) to do as much as we can to make sure this editor isn't a complete failure!
