Precisely; people are such stereo types. Just be yourself if you want to be a moderator.

I'm not a moderator, but I know the rules well enough to say the answer is probably no. You might not necessarily correct wrong, but if you start to; everyone will. And not everyone knows the rules well enough to do that.
NOTE: I also got a little pm warning from drouge telling me that the moderators can handle correcting them and I shouldn't do it when I report something.

Hehe. I can only imaging what you do on your spelling tests. Don't you wish there was a real-life Firefox to help you there, eh? ;)Drouge87 wrote:Yeah, her and Torro are quite possibly wosre at spelling then me! If it wasn't for Firefox's Spell-check, I would spell horribly!

Re: To aspiring moderators.
I tend to botch many words.
Luckily, the only time that spelling ends up mattering, is when I have a list of words at the top of the paper.

I never would have guessed you were a bad speller. I hardly use spell check (maybe more than hardly)--I'm a pretty good speller.

I have never ever used spell check. It's annoying, I think I do pretty good.
But this is getting off-topic...

i've used spell check once and that's it.
Re: To aspiring moderators.
Actually, in Firefox, it tells you when you've misspelled a word. Then, you can right click it for a list of suggestions.

I've noticed several users taking it upon themselves to correct other users when they break the rules - either by replying to their rule-breaking posts, or by PMing them to reprimand them for it.
Whether they do it to help keep the forums clean, or to show off moderator potential is irrelevant - this is not appropriate behaviour.

I would just like to point out that your "cant" should be "can't" (the abbreviation for can not), and likewise that "typeing" should be "typing". I believe you meant to convey the following idea: You cannot become a forum moderator if you do not spell correctly. Occasional errors are acceptable in a forum environment, but it is not professional to attempt to spell the majority of words or phrases using acronyms.miles the togepi wrote:... well... you cant be a mod if you don't spell right. Although honestly I could care less how everyone spells, this is after all, a forum.

If mods needed grammar then it wouldn't be easy to get em. Just saying.

Re: To aspiring moderators.
My advice is to not make such a big deal about becoming a mod, obey the rules and use the report button sensibly, Minimodding will just get you banned. :p
EDIT: Also, don't think Moderation is the same as Disneyland, it can be stressful and hard sometimes.

Re: To aspiring moderators.
To become a mod the first post here says to me (In laymans terms) that you should just obey rules and report rule-breaking posts to show off mod potential. If you do not become a mod than oh well.
Well look at you now! Looks like you know the rules enough to become a mod. Good job.Topgun wrote:I'm not a moderator, but I know the rules well enough
