Avatar issues

I can't seem to get my avatar picture to work. i dont know what it is because ive tried to make it a lot smaller but its not working. it say it must be between 0 and 32 KiB. i have no clue what that means. Help me?

its a custom one. i made it in paint

Is it 112x112? Also, if it is, maybe it's a PNG, change it to JPG.

Not sure about other operating systems, but I haven't changed anything around too much in Windows 7 and when I click on an image in a folder, I get this at the bottom of the window:

Look at Dimensions and Size. If it's 112x112 pixels or below and the size is under 32 KB, you're good.

To change it to JPG/JPEG, try saving it again by opening the file in your art program of choice, clicking "Save As", and saving it as a .JPG or .JPEG file from the list.
However, the JPEG version of a file can be bigger than the PNG version! So try to watch out for that. Also, PNG tends to look a bit better.
