It's a Shiny Two-Tone Yellow Chao, ChaosFlare. All Two-Tone Chao look different as babies.

Wow, this is thoroughly interesting! I wish that my GBA-GC chord still worked so that I might contribute some personal studies of this interesting color. I'm curious as to how the game, in my view, glitches to give a greenish color through a pink Chao. I haven't read all of the posts, so I'm only taking from what I read on the first page. ^-^;; Hopefully one day I can get the opportunity to make one myself.

There's no such thing as a 3-tone chao, or any sort of chao besides two-tone or monotone, unless it's a jewel chao.

I believe you when you say you have a neutral/run "mint" chao. It has more than two distinct colors, which could lead someone to believe it has more than one "tone," but just because a chao has more than two colors doesn't mean it's not a twotone, that's how some twotone chao look.

Well then, Sonic Loves Chao, maybe you should understand why it shouldn't be called a three-tone Chao, other than the obvious fact that it doesn't exist.

A Chao's Breed can be defined by four solid facts: Color, Tone, Jewel Coat, and Shine. In the case of a "Mint" Chao, we have a Shiny Jewel Pink Chao. Because the Jewel Coat covers the Color and Tone details, Jewel Chao and Shiny Jewel Chao are Any-Tone Chao.

But let's talk about Chao that actually have a tone. For example, when I have a Red Chao and a Normal Chao, they both have different tones. The Red Chao has Mono-Tone Genes and the Normal Chao has Two-Tone Genes. Two-Tone doesn't mean two colors. Two-Tone is about as accurate of a term as Color Blind. (Note: Color Blind is actually a disability making it hard to tell the difference between tints, shades, and tones of a certain color.) "Two-Tone" means that the Chao has Highlights. In some Chao, it means that they have two colors. In other Chao, it means they have different shades and tones of their colors. And in the remaining, it means they have a mix of colors like the Normal Chao. So technically, "Two-Tone" means "Highlights" and "Mono-Tone" means "No Highlights".

So, no matter what, calling this Chao a "Three-Tone Chao" is incorrect. Ultimately, the "Mint" Chao is an Any-Tone Chao with Two-Tone appearance. I wouldn't go around calling this Chao a "Three-Tone Chao" because most people will make a great point in making you feel bad for coining a very inappropriate term that cannot be applied to said Chao.

Shiny Pink Chao appear in the Black Market once you have enough emblems.

And if you can't get a Jewel Chao I am assuming that is because you either don't own Sonic Adventure Director's Cut or you don't have a Gameboy Advance and/or the cable to connect it to your Gamecube.

You can still get a shiny Pink by breeding a non-shiny Pink with another Shiny chao (both preferably store-bought).

I posted that before I knew this:
You can get Jewel Chao without a GBA.
Jewel Yellow:
At the shop in Station Square, The egg is there. However, if the egg is not on it's platform-thingy, you are locked in. If you put the stone that sometimes appears in the "garden" (not the chao garden) on the platform-thingy, the door unlocks and you can take the egg to the garden.
Jewel Black:
This egg sometimes falls from the waterfall in the Mystic Ruins.
And I think I'm turning into Crazo.
Anyways, how do you transfer Chao between SADX and SA2B?
Edit: Bawwww, you need a GBA to transfer...

the jewel chao in station square is a gold chao and the one in the mystic ruins is a silver chao. the black egg is in the egg carrier prison and is not a jewel chao(in my game, SADX, but I don´t know if it is a jewel egg in other versions of the game)that would be an onyx egg then, but I doubt that it can be found since it is the most expensive egg in the TCG.
I got this chao the other day and I don´t know if it is really a mint chao. it looks like one to me. I got it from breeding a shiny two tone pink with a pure invisible chao(child of a bought shiny yellow and a gold chao from SADX)
so my theory is the ancestor shiny pink and golden genes would give the mint chao. do you agree? is this possible?
here´s a picture of the chao:
Image
what do you think? is it a mint chao? I mostly hope it.
thanks in advance! :herosurprise:

edit: are mint chao always two-tone chao or is there a monotone form of this chao as well?
edit2: oh man, you said it in the first post, crazo. no mono-tone form. shame on me, sorry. :chaocry: great fail...
edit3: why do the two tone shiny chao in your first post look like mono-tones? I can´t see any highlights. I know from my shiny tt pink that the babies do also have highlights or is this not true for all the shiny tt chao?
the servers are the seven chaos. chaos is power. power is enriched by the heart. the controller is the one that unifies the chaos.

Crazo3077 wrote:NEW!: New video guide on how to obtain "Mint" Chao!

Let me explain myself here. As you may know from my topic on Translucent and Invisible Chao, when you breed a Shiny Pink Chao with a Jewel Chao of any kind, you have a chance at getting at Two-Tone White Chao with a Green Tint, aka a "Mint" Chao. But what exactly is this "Mint" Chao, and why am I using quotes for the word mint? I shall explain that, now.

This strange Chao is not like any other Chao. There is no Non-Shiny version of this Chao and this isn't a Mono-Tone version of this Chao. The fact that it does not give off any results like it is what makes it so strange. Along with that, a glitch that often made Translucent or Invisible Chao somehow created this solid colored Chao. That is why the name "Not so Transparent" works so well.

The reason why it is called a Two-Tone White Chao with a Green Tint is because many have noticed that all the colors of the different forms the "Mint" Chao takes all look like Two-Tone White Chao, but with piece of green glass put over it. So far, that has been the most supported theory. Of course, some think that it was a bonus Chao hidden so that the designers could have something fun for users to find.

For those who think that, take a look at this.

I hope this clears up what a "Mint" Chao is and why it is important to know what it is.
i saw a pic of that on youtube about a mint chao explenation!

eh, the thread is long and i'm on my phone

Are all evo's photographed yet?

The other day on SADX PC I just got bored and started screen capping mint chao evo's and only later realised they're all probably photographed anyway.

So far I've got all Neut/Fly second evolutions.

Should I continue or am I wasting my time?
