Maybe its just the lack of having played any of the console Sonics after heroes(and I never got the last emerald there), I have to say the simplicity of Doomsday Zone's intro to be quite Epic, especially with Hyper Sonic. Not to mention, that was before the final battle in space deal became a series cliche.

Also, isn't it Word of God that Sonic's original Super form was a homage to DBZ as Yuji Naka was a big Toriyama fan?

Still, Hyper Sonic is infinitely cooler than any of the various Super Sayia-jin tranformations. Then again, there are so many variations of SSJ that they lose their cool factor due to normalcy.

The Sonic Heroes transformation actually was pretty cool looking. Especially the sort of metallic sheen Super Sonic had. He was really a golden color in that game, not just yellow like in other appearances.

Also: Super Sonic would be the equivalent of SSj1, not SSj2 guys.

SSJ 2 would by Hyper Sonic. SSJ 3 would be some sort of hypothetical Master Emerald transformation. "Perfect Sonic" perhaps.
