What if Sonic Adventure was a new Sonic game instead?

How would people react, taking note of the, well, picky fanbase we have now?

NiGHTS stuff all over the place is nothing new- er, old- to Sonic games. Sure, it started with SA, but we still have stuff like that...

People would probably wonder about the retro aesthetics SA had going on in the transition from the Saturn era look (which was basically the same as the Genesis) to the more realistic SA2 style. It looks pretty darn weird compared to modern games.

Everyone would complain about the massive plot hole that now exists in SA2, where the Master Emerald was shattered and Chaos did not go on a mad rampage destroying everything in his path, and now suddenly he's all "heart full of rage burn Station Square".

People would wonder why Amy is so weak/normal compared to her usual self, running away from robots rather than crushing them, and not trying to threaten Sonic into marrying her.

The observant would question why Eggman's E-Series robots' numbers count backwards (they literally would at this point- E-1000 in SA2, E-123 in Sonic Heroes, E-121 in Sonic Battle, and now E-100 through E-105).

Granted, a lot of fans would probably make the connection that SA is a prequel (in this case, I guess), and then just be confused about the lame graphics.
