My thoughts on the Steam verison of SA2(B)

Post by CasualCollision »

I will put it simply: It's **** compared to the console versions. Why such harsh words? There one thing, but one BIG thing why I hate this version of SA2(B); the controls. The controls are absolutely atrocious. They're stiff as hell, you can only go in 8 directions even with a gamepad, and it's almost impossible to drift or change direction while running fast, making the speed based levels completely unenjoyable, ESPECIALLY Pyramid Cave and Final Rush. Touching on Final Rush, because of these insuperior controls, accuracy in landing on rails is especially hard for all the wrong reasons, and throughout the level all my deaths were from mis-navigating my landings on the rails by mere inches.

Oh, and there's no Tiny Chao Garden, to my knowledge, meaning no way to get Jewel Chao. Goody!

What kind of controller are you using?
Because I use this:

And it was really easy for me, I didn't notice a difference between computer and gamecube controls.

I'm using a third party Gamepad that works well on just about every other thing I've used. And to check to see if it was the controller and not the game, I switched to a keyboard; it didn't help at all.

Weird, you are the only one I've heard of having problems.
Maybe your computer is lagging a bit?

Nope, no performance problems at all. Not that I know of anyway. The game seems to run smoothly.
