Re: The Official "Rate My Pokémon" Thread
Well, here's my funky team. Since I enjoy playing with not-so-strong Pokemon, here it is!
Drifblim- The Stat Booster
Nature: Calm
Sitrus Berry
Unburden
EVs: 255 in HP, 255 in Speed
Substitute, Baton Pass, Shadow Ball, Stockpile
Purpose: Drifblim's purpose is to set up a sub and boost its stats, before baton passing the stats to another member of the team. Three stockpiles are very good on most defensive Pokemon. Shadow Ball is for emergencies. The Sitrus Berry is to activate Unburden, giving Drifblim back HP to make more substitutes just in case and give her a huge speed boost.
Clefable- The Jack of All Trades
Nature: Serious
EVs: They're all in HP, Defense, and Special Defense
Leftovers
Magic Guard
Ice Beam, Toxic, Follow Me, Cosmic Power
Purpose: Clefable is suited for so many things...it can use Follow Me to assure that Drifblim gets its sub and boosts, or it can be a recipient for Drifblim's Boosts. It's unaffected by poison and burn, sandstorms, and other things, so once it boosts up its defenses, it can attack with Ice Beam or wear things down with Toxic.
Hippowdon: Sandstorm Sweeper
Nature: Adamant
EVS: Attack and HP
Shell Bell
Sand Stream
Ice Fang, Superpower, Stone Edge, Earthquake
Purpose: To set up sandstorm. That's about it. Once Hippowdon does that, he's pretty much done for the battle. However, since he has high IVs in Attack, HP, and Defense, he can take a few hits and deal out some heavy damage.
Cradily: The Evil One
Nature: Sassy
EVs: Defense and Special Defense...a few in HP
Suction Cups
Leftovers or Lum Berry (I switch often)
Rock Slide, Toxic, Stockpile, Recover
Purpose: Cradily can take Drifblim's Substitute, Stockpile Boosts, and Hippowdon's Sand Storm, and wreak total havoc. He poisons everything he can, boosts up with Stockpile (and with 6+ in both defenses, nothing even hurts him). If he takes too much damage, he recovers it off. His one issue is status problems, but those are fairly rare, and with the Lum Berry, even less of a problem. I've taken down entire teams with this Cradily, and he hasn't disappointed me.
Quagsire: The Bulky Killer
Nature: Jolly (useless, I know)
EVs: HP, Defense, and Special Defense
Leftovers
Water Absorb
Ice Punch, Earthquake, Toxic, Recover
Purpose: He's similar to Cradily- he takes stat boosts and survives. He can toxic things, like Clefable, and Recover, like Cradily. He's got Ice Punch for Grass types (even though he can't take a single hit from them) and Dragon Types, and Earthquake for STAB. Like Cradily, I have taken down entire teams with this Quagsire (after he's been boosted). My best friend has labeled Quagsire as his most hated Pokemon because of me. And water absorb is always fun. :D
Arbok: The Annoyer.
Nature: Impish
EVs: Defense, Attack, Special Defense
Wide Lens
Intimidate
Glare, Gunk Shot, Protect, Crunch
Purpose: Arbok is sort of the weirdo on my team- he's got a lot of purposes. He halves the attack of potential physical sweepers, and I can swap him in and out to keep lowering their attacks. He can protect himself from Earthquakes from Hippowdon and Quagsire. He can glare and paralyze his foes, making them MAYBE slower than Cradily and Quagsire. Crunch is for Psychic types who try to kill him, and Gunk Shot is for a main stab move (which I get lucky with the poison, usually). Arbok has done fairly well since I've started using him...so I like him now. I took a chance with him. :D
Well, there it is. Fear my long post. Tell me what you think/give suggestions/criticize/explode/whatever.

Try training it in Speed and Defense. Dont bother with attack, Super Fang takes care of that.

Once they release I might try to make a destructive Drought Ninetales.
It would be either Timid or Modest I'll need help there.
With 252SpAtk/252Spd/4?
And
Solarbeam(Drought).
Flamethrower/Fireblast for STAB power.
ExtrasenSensory/PsychoShock for coverage and........
Maybe Will-O-Wisp.

A Drought Ninetales? Try:
Timid Nature
252 Spa.Atk/ 252 Speed/ 4 Sp.Def for incoming water moves.
Heat Wave (Much better than Flamethrower and Fire Blast)
Nasty Plot
Hypnosis/Willowisp/Confuse Ray
Energy Ball
And the item could be a Flame Plate or Choice Specs.

5 Atk for 10 Acc no thanks I'll stick with Flamethrower.
And while there are weather changes Solarbeam could be better.

Wow, those are all the moves I taught my Ninetles (except it has confuse ray instead of Solarbeam). It's a pretty good moveset, but use Flamethrower and Extrasensory.Shade chao wrote:Once they release I might try to make a destructive Drought Ninetales.

^Seems fine to me, but then again, I wouldn't be coming for help if I was good at judging pokemon power levels.
I would like some advice as how to improve my team.
Slaking lv. 50
Audino lv. 50
Salamence lv. 50
Tyranitar lv. 56
Dragonite lv. 55
Garchomp lv. 51
I noticed that some people often lack enough detail, so I made sure to list everything. Also, sorry if I couldn't fit it in smaller.

6i've actually, since I've posted this, changed up that team a lot. I replaced tyranitar with shuckle, who has gastro acid, which disables slaking's bothersome traunt ability. My lv. 100 Shedinja has arrived, hopefully can reteach fury cutter. Also added my serperior, and a sableye, but that will change when spiritomb hatches.

Hydreigon: The Leader
+sp. atk -atk nature
255 sp. atk 255 speed
Dragon Pulse Dark Pulse
Fire Blast Focus Blast
The only time he has failed is when he used struggle, he was my first 5th gen lvl 100.
Feraligatr or Swampert? This will be my brick wall.
Jolteon: The Outrunner
+ speed -sp. def nature
255 speed 255 sp. atk
Moveset, any ideas?
This guy was trained for my friend, he changed his mind so now I have a super powerful Jolteon.
Dusknoir: The Accursed
+sp. def - speed
255 def 255 sp. def
Firepunch Icepunch
Will-o-wisp Thunderpunch
This is the pokemon I use to cover my weak point, his bulky defenses and predictable weaknesses make him useful.
Typhlosion: The All-Around Beast
See previous post for data.
This monster has never fainted in battle yet.

Re: The Official "Rate My Pokémon" Thread
This is a three-man team for the Battle Tower. A half-baby team. So far, it's gotten me to battle 32 before losing.
Smeargle@Focus Sash
Nature: Brave
Ability: Technician
Moves:
- Fake Out
- Trick Room
- Rain Dance
- U-Turn
Magnemite@Choice specs
Nature: Quiet
Ability: Sturdy
Moves:
- Thunder
- Flash Cannon
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power(Water)
Weepinbell@Big Root
Nature: Quiet
Ability: Chlorophyll
Moves:
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Weather Ball
- Growth
Basically, Smeargle sets up Trick Room, then Rain Dance. It usually dies after that. If not, U-Turn. Oh, and a Fake Out on the first turn, usually. Once dead, either Magnemite or Weepinbell comes out, depending on the foe at the time. Weepinbell is pretty bulky(mine is, at least) so it usually has tome to Growth before attacking. Magnemite usually sweeps with Thunder, but he has HP Water for the Rain boost and a weapon against Fire and Ground types. It may seem bad, but they actually function pretty well. Better than alot of UUs I've used.

I need some help. I'm raising a skeptile. He is level one hundred and I'm still working in his ev's. I need to know if double team, synthesis, energy ball and screech is a better learnset or if I should cut out synthisis for dragon pulse. Any ideas? Thank you.

Re: The Official "Rate My Pokémon" Thread
Ok, really, that's terrible. No offense. It has no physical attacks, so Screech is useless. It's frail, so Synthesis is useless. Evasion raising moves are banned, so Double Team is useless. If it's 5th gen, it can't learn Dragon Pulse, because it's no longer a TM, and if it's 4th gen, then it can't be EV trained any further, because it's already level 100. I don't know WHAT to suggest, tbh. My Sceptile runs a set of Swagger, Worry Seed, Leaf Storm and Night Slash, but it's in a double battle team, so it's got a completely different purpose.
Re: The Official "Rate My Pokémon" Thread
It's not bad actually. Also, I'm competitive only with friends, not in tournaments, so I still use double team. My moveset was exactly yours before, and I was easily defeated by one of my friends. You also overlooked something. I taught it dragon pulse and then tranferred it to gen five. I'm not retarded. Also, my skeptiles nature lowers attack, which may be why your moveset didn't work. You THINK my skeptile is frail, but with this one, I ev'd it in defense and sp defense. It can take a hit.
Edit: about screech... That's just a move that's there. I'm looking for a replacement but don't have one. I'm asking for help, it's not a final moveset.
Edit: sorry I keep editing the posts. I don't want to clutter the topic. So right now I have toxic, flash (replaced double team just to appease you), energy ball, and synthesis. This is a little closer to my average single battle movesets.

Re: The Official "Rate My Pokémon" Thread
Well, when you said you'd "cut Synthesis for Dragon Pulse" I thought that meant teaching it. Not that it already meant it.
Anyway, I can see it taking a Special hit kinda well, but not a physical one. Also, you might wanna check what Hidden Power it has. A Poison or Steel type walls this pretty easily. If it was still in GenIV, I'd suggest teaching it Giga Drain, and then transferring it. But since not, maybe try Grass Knot. Hits harder against things like Steelix and Tyranitar.

Good idea. I know making a single battle grass isn't a good idea, because of weaknesses and such, but I wanted to attempt it. sceptile is one of my favorites. Anyways, what should I take out for grass knot? Toxic?

Re: The Official "Rate My Pokémon" Thread
This team is not for wifi and therefore, has no EV spread or anything really important. But i was struggling on the elite four and i trained a whole lot. My team currently in fire red version is :
Blastoise @ blackglasses
Modest. Level 49
- Double-Edge
- Bite
- Surf
- Rain Dance
Exeggutor @ no item
Hardy. Level 49
- Sleep Powder
- Leech seed
- Confusion
- Bullet Seed
Rhydon @ Quick Claw
Lonely. Level 48
- Earthquake
- Cut
- Rock Blast
- Strength
Raichu @ no item
Naive. Level 61
- Thunderbolt
- Flash
- Quick attack
- Thunder Wave
Dragonite @ no item
Timid. Level 56
- Shock wave
- Surf
- Dragon claw
- Flamethrower
Pidgeot @ no item
Docile. Level 48
- Fly
- Featherdance
- Aerial Ace
- Quick attack
So my main question is, Would I be able to beat the elite four and champion with the levels they are now? Im aware that 4 of the 6 pokemon are not level 50 yet, However they are about 1 or 2 levels away. I thought that maybe Raichu being level 61 and Dragonite being level 56 would make up for it..
Im also aware that not all the natures may fit the attacks they have. but i dont really care for now (modest nature with bite a double edge) etc. So dont complain about that.

Im also aware that not all the natures may fit the attacks they have. but i dont really care for now (modest nature with bite a double edge) etc. So dont complain about that.
