Oh you had me there for a minute. You put in a Generations 3DS screenie right as Modern Sonic was turning, and Photoshopped in an image of the city.

^In the unlikely event that Sonic Team decides to make a game and title it Sonic Adventure 3, what to stop them from developing it for the3DS? Nothing says that Adventur 3 has to be for a home console.

That said, calling any future game Sonic Adventure 3 would be profoundly stupid on Sonic Team's part, just as calling their episodic digital game Sonic the Hedgehog 4 was profoundly stupid. Calling it Sonic Adventure 3 would taint player's expectations, and any failure to deliver on those expectations will lead to the game being bashed despite any merits.

@Crash32: How would choosing to develop a game for the 3DS automatically make it crap? The 3DS is by far the weakest of current Gen systems, and any attempt at multiplatform with 3DS would be a very bad idea, but the 3DS is quite capable of playing host to AAA exclusives. Not that I have much faith in Sonic Team producing anything AAA for the 3DS, especially since the GBA and DS titles were all outsource to the my knowledge. Besides, isn't about time for a new Nintendo Handheld exclusive in the Sonic series?

Also, I would love another Sonic game in the style of the Adventure games, assuming it was done right. Still say it would be better for Sonic Team to call it something other than Sonic Adventure 3 to avoid it being overcompared to the Adventure games.

Had they called Sonic 06 Sonic Adventure 3(as, to my knowledge, its the 3D Sonic that most resembles the Adventure games in style), I doubt there would be many clamoring for Adventure 4.

Personally I think that there have never been a handheld Sonic game that I've enjoyed like the consoles. After seeing what they did with Generations 3DS, making it a 2.5D game, you know that's just them being lazy. Why can we get console-good Mario games like Super Mario 3D Land - A 3D platformer but only get 2.5D Sonic games? The 3DS can clearly handle it.

The Game Gear games were average, and I've never tried to have a solid playthrough of them.

The GBA games (Advance - Pinball Party) again, didn't interest me as much.

I've played through half of Advance, the first stage of Advance 2, and the first few stages of Advance 3. The controls were quite different from the original console ones, which caused cheap deaths sometimes. I didn't like the art style in the first advance either.

Sonic Rush + Sequals were okay, I guess. They pretty much copied the Sonic system from this game for Generations.

Sonic Chronicles was okay, but it's not exactly my type of game.

Generations 3DS wasn't bad, but they really half-assed the modern half of the game.

I like Sonic Jump and Sonic CD, the iOS apps at least :)

You know how Emerald Coast is outside the pool in station square? He's clearly standing on top of the area further on in the level.
