Sonic lost world makes me really think of sonic x-treme,a cancelled game. The game looks like x-treme and has similar design.Also what appears to be a highly improved x-treme engine.

the sonic x-treme engine wasn't ever even COMPLETED. they switched to the nights engine near the end of the project's life.
ideas from x-treme have seeped into sonic adventure, sonic heroes, shadow the hedgehog, and most recently, colors. i think they've run out by now.

Actually, I don't think the two games have anything in common. When I look at this game, I think of Super Mario Galaxy.

Honestly I don't get the 'It's Sonic Galaxy!' thing. The only thing they share in common is walking on things in the air while ignoring gravity. Which sonic doesn't seem to really do all the time.
Even if it did, one thing in common doesn't make them that comparable. In that vein Sonic the Hedgehog is like Super Mario Bros. because you move to the right to reach the end of the stage.

Darn kids and their boost mode. In my day we had Spin Dash for speed AND WE LIKED IT.

Not to mention that Sonic is no stranger to Gravity altering levels(S3K Death Egg, SA2 Crazy Gadget, SA2 Final Chase, just to name a few).
