you can build wherever really, just don't build where someone else has built or anywhere silly (like on top of the spawn in or something)

majority of people have built something in the town, JmT has a place near spawn area, wicca has a shop near there too, some other people have opted to live in the jungle.
I generally stay at the town hall or the church.

This server says it's still online in the multiplayer server list when using 1.7.2.

As for me, I've just been drifting around the internet (I go by DragonArbock most everywhere else). I'm surprised anyone really remembers me, really.
