Worst Company Award
What company would win it?
Capcom is in some deep **** with Megaman Legends 3 (still)
EA is in Sim City (5) ****
Activison has a reputation, but I don't think anything about it has popped up recently.
And these are just companies I know about. POST AWAY

Re: Worst Company Award
I would say Valve, now dont go and hate me for saying this right away, let me explain.
Valve is LAZY, its not that they work on their games real hard such as Half-Life 3 its just that they put things off but everyone looks up to them because their games are good. Even small bugs in Team Fortress 2 that get asked to be fixed so much don't becuase they arent exactly the easiest (im looking at you loch and load)
Good games does not mean a good company people. Stop looking up to Valve like they work on their games super hard for 7 years, they don't. Sorry, just had to get that out of my system.

I guess I'd have to go with Capcom because of their "Let's Cancel a Mega Man Game Mondays".
Also DLC on the disc.

Re: Worst Company Award
Not trying to defend Capcom, but Gamefreak has been doing disc(technically cart)-locked DLC since before online became a common feature on game consoles.
That said, your could do an entire Award's Show dedicated to the various blunders and misdeeds of Game Companies.
Categories could include:
Worst DRM
Most overpriced game
Most overpriced DLC
Worst Game for each platform.
Worst Game for each Genre
Worst multi-platform game.
Worst Game Overall
Laziest Developer.
Buggiest game.
Ugliest Graphics
Most uninspired Graphics
Most infuriating Cancellation.
Most anticipated unannounced sequel.
Worst Spinoff
Greediest Developer/Publisher.
Overall Worst Developer
Overall worst Publisher
You know, it would be a nice change of pace to see an Video Game Awards that instead of praising the best in the industry, insults the worst of the industry, especially if it was presented with the right balance of honest criticism and snarky humor.

Re: Worst Company Award
^Which is the developer's way of giving their publisher the proverbial middle finger. Ubisoft wanted them to just set on the WiiU version while they ported it to other platforms, when they could have easily released it and then released the ports when they are ready.

Re: Worst Company Award
This was actually a marketing choice. They were scared off by the WiiU's poor sales that continue to suffer and abysmal launch which is very reminiscent of the original PS3 launch. It was more economical to port the game to relevant systems as well:eboyblue3 wrote:Ubisoft.

The WiiU version will receive an exclusive feature: http://venturebeat.com/2013/04/25/a-dig ... i-u-eshop/VentureBeat wrote:]The company originally intended to release Rayman Legends in February. The developer finished the game earlier that month. It was ready to ship out when the publisher revealed that it would rather hold off so it could release it on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at the same time. This will help maximize sales since those consoles have much larger player bases than Nintendo’s latest hardware.

Re: Worst Company Award
Yes, because neglecting glitches is TOTALLY equivalent of godawful DRM, releasing unfinished games, overpricing titles and expansions, power grabbing any renowned game development teams, REFUSING to give customers full refunds over broken games, and making the same game over and over every year. Also, providing a good, marketable service WOULD make them a good company. Providing good a good service and making profit is the highest priority in business, whether it be vending, recreational labor, .etc.jackteam54 wrote:I would say Valve, now dont go and hate me for saying this right away, let me explain.

Also, who looks up to them because of their working hours? They're looked up upon because they make quality titles. Even on level of corruption, Valve wouldn't even rate CLOSE to the most corrupt.

The xbone might not be a company, but it stands as a very strong argument for Microsoft making all the other anti-consumer companies in the games industry look like the good guys by comparison.
