I am just glad that Jigglypuff is GONE.

There's like 3 or 4 months of development left before the 3DS version comes out, don't think people aren't going to be in the game because they weren't in the demos.

Thank goodness. Jigglypuff was okay in Melee but in Brawl it was just terrible. XD

It's fake.

Notice that it shows in English on a French community, how "balloon" is misspelled, and the font for the post is different than usual.

Sorry, guys. We'll just have to wait and see who'll show up.

Wait, Jigglypuff is one of the original 8! How could they possibly remove a veteran?

^^Original 12, but yeah, I doubt they will get rid of anyone who has been in the series from the beginning. I'm also pretty sure Brawl had a few veterans that were only comfirmed when the game was released. Perhaps they are hoping to keep Jigglypuff, Ness, and Captain Falcon secret until players unlock them after getting the game.

Characters exclusive to Brawl are the ones that I would say have the highest chance of being cut.

Relics like Lucario and Ike have been allowed in already, Toon Link overstayed his welcome like the other two. Lucario lost his relevance by being a fourth generation engineered dark horse from pokemon, Ike only recently came in as DLC for Fire Emblem, Toon Link's relevance comes from Spirit Tracks, ALBW uses a new model of Link this time around.

It would have been a more welcomed breath of fresh air to see Classic Link of all fighters enter the series, as his model is reused somewhat for ALBW. At the very least, he is relevant. What do they hope to accomplish by bringing the relics back? They're not newcomers, nor are they relevant.

Triert wrote:Things that have happened before Ridley gets put into a smash game.

Melee
- Dr. Mario in a doctors suit has priority
- Pichu, who hurts itself in a couple attacks got priority.

Brawl
- Sonic Introduced
- Solid Snake Introduced
- Rob, an addon for the NES who only had two games took priority.

4
- Lucario, a relic of a fighter added
- Ike, a relic of a fighter added
- Megaman blessed and given new life in this game
- Pacman crashes the party to the surprise of absolutely everyone
- Kid Icarus has more representatives despite only being around for two smash games
- Mii included
- Wii Fit Trainer included
- Shiek and ZSS made seperate characters

What may happen before Ridley is introduced
- I'm going to jinx Ridley myself and Ridley will be introduced into the game in irony of my disbelief.
- Sora will be included as a Square Enix Representative
- Moogle/Black Mage/Chocobo introduced as a Final Fantasy Rep
- Mewtwo returns
- Ghirahim put into the game
- Golden Sun Characters
- Tales of Characters
- A new Fire Emblem Character
Ha ha ha, I see you there, Mister Snide.

I don't doubt your perspective, I've gotta admit. Right now, I see evidence for Ridley to make it in, but I also see evidence for him to not make it in. The too big argument is stupid, but his worst enemy right now is the April Direct with him being hinted to be a boss. I hope he makes it in, but at the same time I don't have my hopes particularly high for that.

Ridley discussion aside...

I don't think the original twelve are anywhere near as safe as people make them out to be. I mean, the likes of Mario, Link, Samus, Pikachu, etc. are safe as they're iconic Nintendo heads, but characters on there like Jigglypuff probably aren't as safe as you'd think. I mean, if Jigglypuff hadn't gotten Fairy type, she wouldn't be relevant at all, and Pikachu is already recognised and loved worldwide as the Pokémon representative, but while Jigglypuff is popular in Japan, in the West she just really... isn't.

Of course, there's definitely characters in Brawl that deserve the chopping block a lot more than she does so I wouldn't count her out by a long shot, but I'm just saying that I don't think the original twelve are what people hype them up to be. If they were, wouldn't we have seen Jigglypuff, Ness and Captain Falcon already?

Whobby's going on for Japan today, and the pamphlet may be hinting at another reveal tonight. Be on the lookout for potential Sm4sh news tonight.

Heard about this earlier. I get the distinct feeling it's gonna be a returning veteran rather than a newcomer, provided there's a reveal at all, which there may not even be. If it's a newcomer, it's probably one of the final Gematsu characters, I believe.

I think Shulk, if it's a newcomer.

Honestly, I think Ness and Captain Falcon have nothing to worry about. I don't think Lucas is going to return, but I'd bet money on Ness and Captain Falcon.

I hope Falco makes it in too, since he was awesome in Melee and... maybe Brawl. As for Wolf, I don't think he'll be back, but we'll see. Although I want to say I wish for more F-Zero reps, there hasn't been an F-Zero game in more than 10 years even in Japan, so who knows.
Also, If Jigglypuff is back in, I hope her Rest will be as powerful as it was in Melee as it was in Brawl. ^^

I really doubt that they'll be revealing any of the unlockables before Sm4sh's release (and that Marth is likely a starter this time around). Luigi was stated to be an exception solely because of the Year of Luigi, and we'll have to see if the third parties get the same treatment as Brawl or not.

Guys, on 7/14 at 7 AM (Pacific), there's gonna be a new character revealed. That's all they've shown, so there are no clues to who it might be. Keep this date on your calendars people!

Just hoping that it might be Chrom. I personally think we need a new Fire Emblem character, like a lot of people.
This is a REALLY old avatar, so thanks to SonicRainboom!

I finally got a deviantart! Only one drawing now, but check it out!
