Yep! Lucina and Robin, I believe from Awakening! Chrom is part of Lucina's Final Smash, I think, and man, am I hyped now.

This brings an end to the reign of Gematsu's "Chrom/Shulk/Chorus Kids" over the heads of everyone hoping for a character that isn't them, and since Sal Romano (bloke who posted the leak) said his latest email went "enjoy my good friend shulk!", that nail went into that coffin two times as hard.

Hope is once again ignited for people all over the fanbase! I can't wait until SmashBoards stops being crashed so I can watch the Ridley thread grow another ten million pages.

I just realized that Lucina fights a lot like Marth.

Yeah, people in SmashBoards' leak thread are pretty sure she's gonna be a clone of Marth. Still, Robin's unique, I think!

Also, Chrom is either part of Lucina or Robin's Final Smash, not sure whose.

Robin's. If you look carefully, you can see him floating around Chrom during the video.

After the reveal today, I have reason to believe that statement is false.

In any case, I'm about 90% sure that Lucina is a clone of Marth, or is an alternate costume. She shares his Neutral Air, Up air, Up special, down special (but to be fair everyone has that /s), and side special.

One of the reasons I want Ridley in now is so Triert can eat his shoes.

We'll see, Triert, we'll see. I'll be waiting.

I'm glad to see Gematsu debunked, and Robin looks amazing! I'm kind of worried for Shulk now, though, since he was my most wanted of the remaining three and I like Xenoblade. To hell with the Chrorus Kids, though. I'd be down for a Rhythm Heaven rep, but there are way more deserving characters in the franchise than them.

I'm glad Captain Falcon is back. I can finally rest easy ;-; Also he looks cool.
Robin and Lucina look pretty neat too

And for those of you who actually care out there: there is a small clip in the trailer where you can see Lucina do a short-hop Neutral air, and when she lands there is almost no landing lag. She may have L-canceled?? (L-cancelling)

It isn't L-canceling. It's auto-canceling. The difference between the two is that auto-cancel happens when a character lands during the ending frames of an attack, while l-canceling happens any time when you land as long as you press the shield button.

Yeah I know of auto cancelling. I know Nintendo has been supporting the more competitive side of the smash scene now, so I was perhaps just being a little hopeful. More movement options would be nice, especially since I've heard running in Smash 4 holds less options than walking. At least from the Best Buy demo

So the new post of the day from Sakurai states that unlike Marth, Lucina's strength doesn't come from the tip of her sword, instead it's balanced throughout the whole blade.

He also talks about the male/female costume variations between Wii FT, Villager, and Robin, and how the only reason Lucina has her own roster placement is because she has a small gameplay difference from her male counterpart. I found that interesting.

You know what I was thinking would be awesome, though probably unlikely? If, with a few exceptions, only the starting roster is being revealed pre-release and the unlockables are being left as surprises for the first people who unlock them.

So is no one else disappointed about how we got a moveset clone?

Lucario was much more different than mewtwo, but people still called him a clone.

Its cool that FE gets more reps, but I'm a little disappointed that we really only got 1 new character and 1 clone. That does enter the possibility of falco being back though, if they are going to bring in someone with a small gameplay difference.

EDIT: Also this trailer makes captain falcon look more of a badass because he can just ****** deflect swords with his arms.

Has anyone else noticed the huge amount of space being taken up by a few games?

Like, it's not a huge deal or anything but I noticed that Fire Emblem now has 4 reps (1 being a clone), Pokemon has 4 reps, and Zelda has 4 reps (2 just being a character split in half). That's 12 slots taken up by just 3 series. It just feels like a lot of wasted space if it turns out there aren't going to be a lot of characters released.

That's just my thoughts though.
