What's your favorite Mega Man game?
Any series.
Personally, I prefer Mega Man X. It's fun, fast paced, and takes everything that made classic mega man good while updating the formula into something fresh.

Funnily enough, I've only played Mega Man 1-5 on the Gameboy and while they were fun and frustrating they were all pretty mediocre.
I can't really say what my favourite Megaman was since it was all a blur, but I guess 1 or 2 since they were pretty much just handheld versions of the NES titles which is very impressive.

My fav has to be either Battle Network, Starforce, or Zero 3.

The steep difficulty curve prevented me from getting into what I've tried of the Classic series and the successor series that stick to the same genre.
I did quite enjoy Battle Network 3 and 4 with 3 being the better game in my opinion and I regret having never played the rest of the Battle Network/Star Force series.

Rockman Nine. It basically fixes all the problems of the classic series while maintaining the same charm and artstyle.

The only Mega Man game I can remember playing is a borrowed copy of Mega Man X.

I'm gonna say Megaman ZX. I remember it being really fun. Megaman 2 was amazing as well.

Re: What's your favorite Mega Man game?
I've played every game in the series', but here are my favorites.
Original series: MM2, MM3 and MM8. I've always really liked 8; the level design, art and musical direction were all interesting and fresh and it's a shame gamers were too jaded by 7 to appreciate it.
X series: X3, X4 and X6.
I really enjoyed the entirety of Zero and ZX so I can't really choose a favorite there. Battle Network and Star Force were innovative but after a while suffer Nintendo syndrome and became very niche and uninspired and they lost me.
I know I'm going to break somebody's heart but I never had any love for Legends. To be fair, I really enjoyed its premise and mechanics but even when I finished it shortly after it came out as a kid it never really rose above a mediocre to average experience. 2 was a little more ambitious, but I digress.
Some of the arcade spin-offs were pretty fun and cute.
