I'm looking for some 3D platformers, because I can't keep playing Super Mario Sunshine and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle forever. (Actually, I probably can.)
The closer the games you guys give me are to Super Mario Sunshine (Basic 3D platformer with a well executed gimmick) the better.
That's what made Mario 64 feel kinda plain to me, but feel free to recommend them anyways.
Also, please don't give me games like Mario 3D World and Land because they feel like some kinda weird pesudo-3D.
Epic Mickey, Spyro Ripto's Rage, Spyro Year of the Dragon, the third Gex the Gecko game, Kirby 64, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, the original Rayman games, the Luigi's Mansion games, The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge, the Lego games, and maybe the recent Donkey Kong game.
^By 3D, I didn't mean games with 3D Graphics (those Kirby and Donkey Kong games). And Luigi's Mansion is a platformer?
That aside, these all seem interesting.
3d platformer is a really broad term, if it's 3d and there's any platforming at all--jumping, collecting, traversing, avoiding obstacles, using items, devices, or weapons to accomplish any of that--and these days action-adventure gets lumped into it (i.e zelda, god of war, 3d castlevania)--it's probably labeled one. edit: that includes 2.5 being seen as 3d. added because i guess some people don't grasp context clues
tried my best meeting what you're looking for, yeah i'm old

The games he's referring to (the recent DK games and Kirby 64) are both 2.5D platformers in the sense that they're 2D platformers reminiscent of the 2D era of video games, they just have proper 3D graphics.
Don't ever give up Mario Sunshine. It's the best Mario game ever. But if you want a 3D platformer as good as that, I recommend the original Spyro trilogy. Preferably the third one, as it was the best.
+1 to Banjo-Kazooie and the original Spyro the Dragon.
If you have a PSP, I'd recommend Daxter. Levels are far more linear than Jak and Daxter, but it feels closer to the original than what I've played of Jak 2 and 3.
It's more of an Action RPG than a true platformer, but Ys: Oath in Felghana does have quite a bit of running and jumping and is worth playing just for the soundtrack.
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage
Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon
Donkey Kong 64
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos
Sly 2: Band of Thieves
A Hat in Time (when it comes out...)
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom (i swear on the bible that this game is actually amazing)
Crash Twinsanity
Ape Escape
Psychonauts
Rayman 2
