Nintendo need to seriously revise their way of thinking come the NX. I stopped looking at them with rose-tinted glasses a while back; though they try for more cartoony games, the type I prefer, they really are no better whatsoever than Sony or Microsoft. Put them in the position of the latter two and they would do the same things as those companies.

I honestly have had no reason whatsoever to buy a Wii U. Throughout the entire lifetime of the console, there were about two games that made me care enough to even slightly consider it, and none of them were Mario, that much is for sure. Xenoblade Chronicles X and Hyrule Warriors, basically. I have been waiting on a solid, proper Metroid release as the one SINGULAR thing that would make me buy a Wii U, and it never came. Nintendo pushed Mario and Zelda as hard as they could to sell copies, almost forgetting a slew of their other titles. I 100% totally agree with BlackLuigi here, Nintendo rails so hard on brand recognition and even then suffers because all they do is push Mario as their main selling point, which dilutes it because people get sick of it. Yes, they do other things, but for the most part is has been thrusting Mario pretty damn hard at us with the Wii U. Sure, they did it with other consoles, but at least with the other consoles they had more of the other first party titles to go with it and drown it out.

I've all but stopped caring what Nintendo puts out until they give me a proper Metroid, which undoubtedly influences my bias there, but whatever.

Regarding consoles, their move to make the NX in the middle of the generation at all is a gutsy one, and if they don't have the console specs to back it up, they won't succeed. I just really personally hope they don't go with a gimmick. It would be helpful to them with third party titles, which would be more likely to want to cooperate as they don't have to design or re-design their entire game around an alternative control scheme that's as alternative as the Wii U's one.

I don't want Nintendo to go under, though. As dreadful as a lot of what Nintendo does nowadays is (YouTube especially, though I find that kind of laughable as they're just shooting themselves in the foot), Konami's already ****** the Castlevania brand every two ways from Tuesday, so if they take Metroid under, I really don't know what I'll do. I can't help but find myself just feeling saltier and saltier towards Nintendo though, because of their decisions.

Chao Adventures, to be rather blunt, you sound like your trying to live in the idealized 1950s America portrayed in television sitcoms from that time, and the only reason I'm not calling you a modern day puritan is that I'm sure they'd think even the rare eC rated game was sinful. Freedom of choice in entertainment is all fine and dandy, but there is such a thing as not being desensitized enough.

It kind of annoys me that after several years I FINALLY get my Wii U just for NX to be announced. At least the new zelda will be released on Wii u aswell.

- Fair point on brand recognition, the company is too afraid to take on new IP's now that I remember.

- PS3 online gaming was always free wasn't it? I can't help but recall either microsoft or sony both having "pay for internet" fun

- Now I won't discount the microtransactions, but Mewtwo and other DLC characters aren't on disc DLC whatsoever.

- If by that you mean remaking the models the current model, then yes.

PS3 was always free, so is the PS4. Sony has PS+, which gives you bonuses and such. MS forces you to buy it, but gives pretty much the same bonuses. MS claims that they use the money from their service to buy better servers and perform security checks constantly, which is what I was talking about beforehand.
I said Mewtwo was essentially on-disc, because before they even released the game, they said MewTwo was almost finished, and that it would be released as paid DLC.

Dude, just chill. You're comparing us telling you that us disliking what Nintendo is doing to racial discrimination and sexism. Just calm down bro.

All we're saying is that:
A) Nintendo dropped the ball, and IMO has been doing it ever since around the middle of the Wii's lifespan
B) Nintendo isn't some amazing perfect vidyagame maker
C) Other consoles have a large offering of other games that aren't just gore or shooters

I don't really participate in them either. I'm just a little miffed because I bought my Wii U to play good games, and so far I don't feel like I got as good of a return on my investment as I should have.

Nintendo just said that they feel like they can sell at 800k more Wii U consoles before the launch of the NX next year.

Considering it sold like 3 million last year...does that sound reasonable to anyone? Especially because people are going to know the NX is coming out.

Anyways to go back to what Luigi said, I guess that's somewhat reasonable but I think that's a little high considering what all we're supposed to be getting on the wii u this year. So far we have Paper Mario... and that's it really? It looks like it's going to be a terribly slow, meh year game wise and i doubt it will scratch a million, possibly 800k. Guess we'll see if they can get any good bundles or something

Need For Speed is generally pretty trash. That's less focused on racing and more on arcade

That game was gold. Burnout Paradise was also super fun, and even some of the newer racing games aren't really all that bad.

Most Wanted on the PS2 is the only one I remember enjoying. I tried Burnout Paradise but the cars handled like trash, really weird and not enjoyable.

Back in 2015 when I bought my wiiu, I went into it knowing I only really wanted two or three games that were on it, which is why I'm not feeling too shorted by a new console coming out soon. Even so, with the news that the new Zelda game is going to be on both NX and U, there's next to zero chance I buy it. Like some other people here have said, I'm not interested in the latest Mario Party/Tennis/Kart/etc, I want more mainline games from Nintendo's IP's.

I'm pretty open minded with the wii u but today I was absolutely furious with the console

Apparently i didnt have enough space to download bayonetta 2, which was alright i'd just go to see what was taking up space.

Not only did bayonetta 2 take up too much space, but to make space i'd have to delete from some of the main games i still play, smash, mario kart, and taking up over 7000 megabytes metroid trilogy (which i didnt play anyways i'll redownload later) so i did trilogy and deleted a few other game save datas like donkey kong and luigi U. Even then, i STILL didnt have enough, as bayonetta 2 took 17.5 gigabytes.

I dont have an extra hardrive, but the storage space on the wii u is pretty pathetic not gonna lie. I have an xbox one with 500 gb of space.

The only time I ever had to erase stuff was when I was downloading Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze from Club Nintendo. I deleted a couple of Sonic demos and it was fine.

Honestly, even 500 GB sounds rather anemic if you're regularly downloading "AAA" titles, and while there are other reasons to buy Physical, I'm pretty sure Bayonetta hardcopies are a limited edition and almost impossible to find for a reasonable price.
