Is there any way to reset the ring glitch in Sonic Advance?

The ring glitch is where your ring count doesn't increase until you collect the previous amount of rings you had before you restart your file. Is there a way to reset that, like spending all of your rings, and reset the file, therefore the glitch happening, but it's much more avoidable?

i'm not very sure it's avoidable unless you had savestates or something like that

there's no way to bypass it without getting as many rings as you had in your initial file
