Hidden eggs in chao garden

Some dude on gamefaqs stated that after 4-5 hours of digging in the chao garden, he dug up a chao egg. is that even possible?

Chao, due to lack of thorough studying them by most of the internet, have tons of misinformation on websites, varying from plausible but wrong to completely absurd.

But here is a very good source for information, supported by tests and hacking into the game, along with supporting a reasonable view of what people have support for.
