You can't, or atleast i don't know, but it depends how it is born.
The main way to change it would to be nice to it, or when it evolves, it will change.

its easy just keep petting it alot (120 hearts) and give it 2 fruit it should change if not give it more fruit :suprise:

Spoiling the chao is what makes it a crybaby.

And also some fruits give it certain personalitys. (I think) Try feeding it square or round fruit for a curious personality.

There is a way to make a chao a non-crybaby...

It is called beating it and not treating it well when it cries, but that takes so long that by the time the personality changes (which it probably won't be a good one), you will have to pet it for... basically the rest of it's life (which will spoil it D:) until it is actually happy again.

Best is to hope it randomly changes, because that can happen.
