I just saw this movie called "Chronicle" yesterday, and it was one step above average

It was like:

The Artful/Amazing (Pulp Fiction, The Crow)

The very well done (Chronicle)

Good (Iron Man, Batman: The Dark Night, Super 8, Cloverfield)

Average (The Hulk, Tower Heist, Thor)

BAD (Transformers 2 and 3, I Am Number Four, Etc.)

Good plot and nice effects, along with good character building and very nice screenplay. If you haven't, watch it.
