opinion on bumped topics

Post by Tsui »

To those bumping the topics:
Spoiler:
I don't know what reaction you're after or if you're simply bored out of your mind. I can't really say anything here as it's not my place, but my suggestion is to recreate the topic instead.
To everyone else:
Spoiler:
You might see the little mark saying you've posted in the topic. You might not even remember. Who cares? Ignore it if you want. Skip to the most recent post.
None of it matters. Whatever you said when you were 13 isn't relevant as a 16 year old. Adolescence is a time when people are constantly shedding their skin and their brains are ever-evolving. The person who controlled your body years ago isn't you, isn't who you are right now.
But what if people make fun of you? Then they're a weirdo for bringing something up that's so old for a laugh. Their need for the feeling of superiority doesn't matter. I'm not saying you shouldn't acknowledge feelings that arise from the actions of other people. Definitely, you have the right to feel the way you do, but take a deep breath and tell yourself it's okay. Tell yourself I told you it's okay. And just shrug and say "whatever". Have a laugh. Who the hell is that person from years ago? Not you right now.
Obviously this applies to teenagers and not so much adults, but last time I checked we had more teens than adults here.
I was concerned about how other users might be feeling, so I just wanted to say something. :herocool:

I'm lucky and don't feel regret for anything I've ever done in my past.

I mean, what's interesting is that a certain recent thread that was made was actually poking fun at one of my older topics.

The forum definitely isn't getting any younger, as long as the person bumping the topic is aware that they're doing so I think it's fine. People like Retro that are fully aware and usually joke about it in their posts are fine. Sometimes it revives discussion, sometimes it's just ignored and dies off, but I'd rather old joke topics be bumped than have more stupid topics about arguments and passive aggressiveness or whatever.
