The Chao Island Artists' group (Official)
Re: The Chao Island Artists' group (Official)
Yeah, I'd agree that the doodle of Sonic fits with the Sonic X/late 90s-early 2000s style of Sonic. However, his nose is too large and the feet aren't quite right.
Also, the Hero Chao's "antennae" are also a bit too large.
Some of this could even pass as a normal drawing if you drew them at a larger scale and added a background. I'd say you nailed the rest.

http://oi60.tinypic.com/nd7fcy.jpg my latest drawing for Nacho
I use a Wamcom tablet and Gimp 2.8, as well as pencil (and pens) on paper. If I ever get a camera to work with me, I might show some paintings and ceramics I have done, but for now, it's just the paper and digital art.

Well, maybe...no your right sonic X is the only thing the style resembles.
Re: The Chao Island Artists' group (Official)

Look at me, necroing this topic.
Anyway, I made a thing for a thing called Internet RP.
I tried to add a texture in this drawing (note the shine).
Anything I can improve (I know about the hands)?

Re: The Chao Island Artists' group (Official)
Aside from the hands (which IMO don't look that bad to be honest, but it might be due to the drawing being mostly silhouette), the person's left arm (their left) looks a little more fat and shorter than the right. Also the right (their right) leg looks a little short compared to the left one as well. So I'd say proportions might be something to work on.
Anyways, here's my latest doodle:
Doodle of Zepopo already prepped for St. Patrick's day.
Some things I can already point out myself is that the bold outline is inconsistent in some places (with it being thinner and thicker in certain spots). Zepopo's right leg looks a little longer than it should be compared to her left. Her hands look off, but this was a more difficult position to reference well without using like a mirror or something. The shamrocks in the background were lazily drawn, so they probably look off. And lastly, the shading and highlighting looks wonky in some places (completely forgot to highlight the scarf).

Yeah, limbs are a problem for me.
Anyway, I would recommend going into Photoshop (you still have CS2, right?) and using a stroke effect on Zepopo for that "cel shading" effect.

Re: The Chao Island Artists' group (Official)
Sadly I don't have CS2 on my laptop, which is what I do most of my drawings on. It's on my dad's computer, which I generally only draw on for Speed Paints or finishing touches on a more complex drawing.
My laptop would probably crash if I tried running CS2 on it. SAI does kinda have a thing with Linework layers that lets you edit drawn paths similar to the pen tool in CS2, but I was kinda rushing it since there was a TV show I wanted to watch and I just wanted to get the drawing out of the way so I wouldn't have to come back to it later.
More of a fault on my end.

Why wasn't I aware that there was CI's Artist Group? Why!?
Can I join?
Traditional Artz ( I will soon upload traditionals with a scanner so don't expect any of this crappy quality anymore... )

Digitals

I know it sucks, but since the greatest artists are here maybe I can get some good advice for once since in my art topic all there is "OMY GOSH, SNOWY THOSE DRAWINGS ARE SO AWESOMELY COOL AND STUFFZ".

Thats pretty good zipo. The shading doesn't look too bad frankly though those feet do look a little off.
To eboy, thats not that bad and the hands are good but if they weren't a silhoutte, it would look weird but since they are, it looks like the fingers are just on the palms.

Wowsers. I didn't know this club was still kickin'.
I drew these two scraps the other day. One was something I couldn't finish because my trail version of SAI crashed, and the second I just couldn't finish because I just didn't feel like it.
I'm still pretty poopy at arts, but I'm improving I guess.
