Sonic got into a fighting position, slipping the Chaos Emerald into the cuff of his glove. He scanned the cave suspensefully.
The water stopped dripping. The puddle that the water had formed quivered, and started growing into...
"Hey, its the emerald thief!"
Sonic turned around to face Beam and Knuckles. "I found him!" Sonic said jokingly.
"We know," Knuckles scowled. "Keep him away from that emerald!" He glided towards the creature, who melted into gel, only too jerk back up and catch Knuckles by his foot. "Whoa! Hey!" Knuckles flailed his arms and 'Oof'ed when he landed on the ground, face first, with a painful thud.
"Ooh," Beam winced.
"Not cool!" Sonic spinned dashed at CB, only to pass right through. It grinned mischievously and caught Sonic mid-jump by the neck, and flung him into a wall.
"Hey!"
A loud and defensive snarl echoed through the cave. A female, cream-furred Fox with a staff was at the entrance of the cave.
CB raised a brow and let Sonic go, amused at the little Fox.
"Get out of here, flubber!" The fox shouted again, bristling.
CB turned to her completely.
"Yea, you!" The fox pointed her staff at him.
CB frowned and crouched, ready to pounce.
