Snowy catched up to the group, he was literally on fire... but at this point, he was crawling toward them... "help...*cough*"

Zero eventually saw a small opening in the ground leading down. "Cave!" he called, and he sprinted right on over to it. Lucky and Electro followed him.

[Snowy]

Snowy gave up. It was only then that his Ice Gem glowed and made Snowy's surrounding area become below 0 degrees C. Cold enough for him to walk and not be on fire or melt anymore.

Comet was not ready to give up just yet. He began staring at the ground intensely, trying to determine if another Chao's energy has been here previously. He had no luck, as he had not mastered this ability, but was convinced that Zero was still somewhere in the forest.

Destiny looked back at Snowy and waved as Xale ran past him.

Zero continued on, soon reaching the cave and entering it. A burst of fire, enhanced by the Drought, flared out to show where it was in the hazy air.

Pebbles eventually caught up witht the group, sweating like crazy.

"Hey-*pant* what're we-*gasp* doing?"

Once Xale ran into the cave and placed Destiny down, he let out a breath and grinned. "We were trying to get to this cave to cool off a bit, and hide." He said.

Destiny continued to rub her head with the ring even after she was placed down.

"Ok," He wiped some moisture off the cave wall and smeared it on his face. He imediently felt better.

Snowy entered the cave. He went into a corner and made it even colder. "Don't come over here to this corner if you don't want to freeze to death."

Destiny looked over at Snowy, tempted to cool down beside him. She figured it wasn't a good idea to enter such cold temperatures just after she was exposed to hot ones, so she decided against it.

Xale just wiped some sweat off his face. "Phew! Glad we made it!" he piped with relief.

"I know..." Now that Zero was in the cave, it was very obvious that he was sweating. "It's so hot out there..."

Pebbles walked over to some puddles that were forming from stalactites in the cave. He imediently began smearing his face all over the puddles, sighing a sigh of relief "Gah-ha-ha-ha-ha...."

Destiny attempted to create some ice in her paws, but failed to do so. She just gave a small huff and scooted into the corner.

Xale was breathing heavily as he glanced outside. "I-I wonder if that G-Guy followed us...?"

[Snowy]

Snowy, feeling fully cool'd up, adjusted the temperatures to a pleasant one. "There..."

Pebbles plopped down, sweating like crazy. "*huff* Thanks, Snowy..."

Comet sighed. He flapped his little wings and took off. He maneuvered around the trees, thinking to himself. He may have to sacrifice himself to annihilate Zero.

After a while, he felt... Funny. His powers were actually picking up on the energy of the Chao! They had been here! He landed on the ground and began following the energy trail, and the strange sensation got stronger and stronger. He was getting close.

Eventually, he saw the cave. The energy led to there. He slowly approached it, being very quiet and very careful. The energy was very strong, suggesting that multiple Chao were in this cave. He'd have to be careful, since they might gang up on him.

Zero saw a shadow in the cave where the light came in, and he looked up. "You again?" he groaned, and backed up a pace or two. Comet's power was stronger than it had been before, yes.

But Zero wasn't going to take it anymore.

He wasn't who Comet thought he was...

Snowy stood up as Zero's reaction led him to his ready-to-fight stance.

He really hopes that this battle doesn't make him go outside... He'll die in less than 20 minutes out there!

Comet stopped. He recalled how he had killed Zero the first time: With stone. Would it work a second time?

[Jack Augustine]

Zero glared at Comet, fire flaring out from his paws. "You wish to kill me once more, I know. But I don't stand for evil... You wouldn't know this, but I stand for good. I will do anything to save the world."

Xale Sweatdropped as he looked between Zero and Comet.

Destiny attempted to stand and help Zero, but stumbled as she was getting to her feet.

Xale grabbed Destiny and placed her down. "This isn't our fight, I'll help if I really need to, but I think Zero can do this on his own..."

Comet glanced up at the stalactites. He fired tiny energy balls at them, causing them to fall. "LIAR!" he screamed at Zero. "You want to bring us harm! If you don't die, it'll be the end of all of us!"

Looking up, Zero noticed the falling spears of rock. Easily sidestepping this, he launched his own attack on Comet; a punch fueled by fire. "I'm not lying... COMET. You wish to annihilate me, Zero, when I've done all I can within my life to save the world from Chaos?!"
