I've noticed several users taking it upon themselves to correct other users when they break the rules - either by replying to their rule-breaking posts, or by PMing them to reprimand them for it.
Whether they do it to help keep the forums clean, or to show off moderator potential is irrelevant - this is not appropriate behaviour.
If you have not been assigned as a moderator by either Mooncow or myself, you have not been authorised to do this. Why shouldn't you? For the following reasons.
- You may be cluttering threads.
- You may be enforcing the rules incorrectly, making our job even more difficult
- By not informing a moderator of the problem, the user will not be getting the correct punishment.
Thank you for reading. Have fun!
